Dollar Tree wood cut out crafts

Hi there friends! Moving right along this winter season and here we are almost into February! Hey-we finally have heat in our house. YAY!

This quick little craft can be for any season or occasion. When you see the Dollar tree wood cut outs per season, it’s not a bad idea to pick up a few at a time. You never know when you start getting on a craft roll, where they will go, or who you will give to. I was thinking all sorts of ideas when doing these heart wood cut outs.

They typically come in a pack of 5 including the twine. I used my own twine because the twine it comes with is too thin. The actually wood cut outs are great quality and not cheapo and thin.

The day I made my BOHO canvas art, I had a few left over doilies.

Boho heart swag made with dollar tree hearts

I had just the right amount to do my Dollar tree heart cut outs. THis is not where they are going or how I will be arranging. I just wanted to snap this photo to give you a visual. The art and heart swag are going to the condo, and I believe in our Boho bedroom. Hearts are for all year round, not just Valentines day.

For this project all you need are the Dollar tree hearts, additional twine, Mod Podge and sponge brush.

First, I cut my doilies in pieces, some larger than others. I then painted on the wood heart with Mod Podge using my sponge brush, adhered the paper doily and brushed over. You may have parts that you need to trim. You can use tissue paper or even wrapping paper. Make them your own as I always say. These would make a cute swag for a wedding, or baby shower, you can use the coordinating paper that would fit the theme. Hey for a buck or two you can just go wild making swags. Have a swag party with your friends.

I painted the tips of the arrows on some just for a little extra. You could even add some buttons, pins, or bling. Just a little touch of your own.

Hope you enjoyed my Dollar tree wood cut out, BOHO hearts. I know these doilies are hard to find. I mentioned I found mine at Michael’s a few years back. The brand is called Recollection and they carry a line of scrap booking paper goods. You can always pick up colored doilies, or white, and stamp or stencil a little design on them. There are always ways to improvise if you can’t find the exact.

Pin it, make it, enjoy!
