How to personalize and monogram just about anything!

By Debbiedoo's Team Published: Apr 20, 2016

Hi there everyone.  It’s Rachel here again from Holy craft.  Today, I am sharing how you can personalize and monogram just about anything!  If you missed my button art project you can find that here.  I love creating budget friendly crafts and gift ideas.  I would say these slippers look straight out of a pottery barn catalog, minus the huge price we would pay.

I have a handful of save the date cards on my desk and engagements seem to be happening all around me. It is officially wedding season! Spring seems to bring with it weekends filled with bridal showers and they really are loads of fun to go to. I always like to pick up a little something for the bride from the couple’s registry but I also like to throw in a little handmade gift as well.

I have a bridal shower coming up in just a few weeks, so I thought I would take a second {and I literally mean a second!} to work on a little something for one of my favorite brides.

Now I’ve been married for a million years {it seems}, but I do remember being engaged and doodling Mrs. Teodoro all over my notebooks. Taking on a new name is one of the most exciting parts of getting married and brides just love having items personalized items in their new name. So I found some slippers and used some heat transfer vinyl cut on my Silhouette Cameo to create these personalized wedding slippers the bride can wear on her big day.

It’s so very easy and I think they look so very expensive. The bride doesn’t have to know that you made them for around $1!

I found my slippers at the dollar store. Then, I simply found a font that I liked, wrote out the name in my silhouette software, cut it out with heat transfer vinyl and ironed the letters on. If you haven’t used heat transfer vinyl before, I have a full tutorial you can find here.

Thanks Rachel for this nifty, thrifty trick. I have never used a heat transfer before myself, guess I have to give it try!

Those are pretty nifty slippers. I’m confused–I clicked on this web-site and got a page saying that this domain was for sale. Really? I’m not sure what exactly I clicked on or what the sequence was, but I was really surprised. So, is it true, Debbie? Are you calling it quits?

I love this idea. I don’t have one of the fancy silhouette machines. Any idea?

I don’t have one either, but considering lately investing in one. I suppose you could stencil them too.
