A Martha Stewart inspired wedding cake

By Debbiedoo's Team Published: Aug 14, 2012 · Modified: Nov 20, 2015

Good morning!

Today  I am sharing a Martha Stewart inspired wedding cake.

So happy to be back home and getting back into the routine of things.

I have a crazy, busy week ahead as my boys start back to school next week.

This has been the fastest summer EVA~

I have a lot of  inspiration to share with you from my sisters wedding.

I will try not to overwhelm you all, but it was so amazing, I want to share it all.

The CAKE!

A Martha Stewart inspired wedding cake

The cake was one of the first pins I happened to pin on pinterest for inspiration for the wedding.

Source: marthastewartweddings.com via Debbie on Pinterest

You see I turned my Mom and sis onto pinterest very early on too!

Martha Stewart inspired wedding cake

The wedding theme was Daisies, vintage, yellow and browns.

Oh and a few of you ladies complimented my hair.

Hate to tell you, this is only half my real hair.

My Mom and I happened to be in the drug store the day before.  I was in the hair dye section and saw this cute little clip on extensions.  I tried one on, and my Mom said WOW, that looks really cute.

In the cart it went, and I have to tell you I love this PHONY tail!

Not only did this cake look absolutely gorgeous,  and exactly like the inspiration, it also was the best tasting wedding cakes I ever had. White cake with raspberry filling.

Oh my mouth is watering for a piece right now.

My sister also, became a Step Mom on her wedding day.

Gracie is 9 years old. My sister absolutely adores her and Gracie could not be more fortunate to have the loving Step Mom she now has today.  Oh and she has  really cool Aunt Debbie now, and cute cousins Alex and Jack. Not to mention, My Mom has a granddaughter ~

And that is the story of the cake.

More to come, believe me!~

Sneak peek at one of the coolest tables I have ever seen at a wedding!

The cake is beautiful! There is something about that yellow…I love it!

My niece is getting married in October & we are going crazy because she’s in Texas & we’re trying to plan thiswith her long distance. I can’t wait to see that “cool” table. My niece is having one too, and a little inspiration would be nice! lol

I have to say, the colorscheme of your sisters wedding is refreshing! I see sooooo much pink in weddings, but rarely yellow. I love it!! The daisy theme (I love daisies) was such a great idea. The yellow and white is so crisp together and just looks like summer. So perfect. That cake is adorable too. Hope you will continue to share more pics. I love looking at them!

    well. I said it anyway:)

Debbie, Fantastic cake. Love the daisies. Whoever made the cake got it right on!
I know Angie will make a fantastic step mom. You have such a loving family she is going to be one spoiled little girl. She is adorable. I am on the lookout for more.
I just came in from the garden. Southern ladies are not supposed to sweat but my glistening machine is on overload. Why do weeds thrive when flowers can’t make it? Maybe that is the definition of a weed. LOL
    Love ya girl, Ginger

Debbie- What a beautiful cake…and beautiful bride….and beautiful step-daughter- As a Mom who came into a marriage with a son (who was my hubby’s stepson then) tell her to make sure she introduces her as her daughter (if that is okay with the girl). We were very careful to do that so that my son never felt like an outsider-especially once we had other kids….just a thought- I LOVE your hair piece- is that cute, or what? xo Diana

No the dress was not vintage. Lord knows she tried, just nothing that would fit her properly. I forget the designer, but it was gorgeous. I will find more details out. I know it was not as expensive as it looked…I believe my Mom paid $700.00 for it…she looked like a Princess.

What memories you brought back,I teared up as I read the post….yellow my favorite color in my 20’s and the color I used for my wedding…and cake was yellow with daisy’s but 4 layes and a sprial staircase around the cake with candles…I got married on my 20th birthday…I love the looks and you have a wonderful sister….love you hair…you have to keep those little hair pieces to play with….my Daughter in law as very fine hair so she has used wigs to play with….my son says it is like being married to different women…one day long sassy hair and the next back to her Audrey Hepurn pixie cut…fun…

PS can you send me your address I have a little ….cupcake for you….I think you will find fun…a couple of trinkets can go inside….

Thank you all for the kind comments! We had a wonderful day and mom and sister made it perfect! I couldn’t be happier with the turnout. My dress is a Maggie Soterro (Isadora Ann). It fit with the theme perfectly and was exactly what we were looking for and not a bad price! Our cake also had a layer of Tiramisu which was delish also!
