Just CaLL me MoDge!

By Debbiedoo's Team Published: May 3, 2010

I have to tell you all I have never been much into crafting.  In fact I think I have always sucked at every attempt I have ever made.  But lately here in blog land everywhere I turn there is inspiration.  I have seen this Mod podge all over the place. And since discovering Amy from Mod Podge rocks, I have been getting so much  more inspiration.  Not really knowing what it was and what to do with it, I decided to buy me a bottle and experiment.

Well today was a bitter sweet for me, and I will tell you why.  I have a lot of Elle Decor magazines that a dear German friend of mine gave me before she had to move back to Germany.  Her and I where very close as where our boys.  I miss them so very much everyday. It has been a almost a year that they have been gone, and not a day goes by that I do not think of them.
As I was sitting at my table Mo podgeing away with all her magazines she gave me, I no sooner get finished and my door bell rings.  I go to the door, and it is my friends Husband…..yes he was in the States on business and he said he just could not be here and not stop in.
WOW, I was shocked and told him what I was just doing. Now, I will say I am expecting him tomorrow for dinner, but I was not expecting him today.  We both choked up a bit, reminiscing of our times together and how close are boys where.  I showed him my project and I told him to please tell Elke what I was doing….

Now let me say….I love MOD PODGE! it was such a fun and easy project.  I already had the terra cotta pots, all else I needed was my herbs.  Ran over to Walmart and picked up three herbs I thought we would like….here is my finished little project.  I thought these would be cute for Mother’s day gifts, teacher gifts or just a nice to have you as a friend gift.  Even party favors with name tags…the possibilities are endless I will be making more this week.

I even made the cutest little tags using mini craft clothes pins, and then I made my own labels

This picture was taken the night before my friends where moving back to Germany.  Elke had been crying for a solid Month straight, it was very emotional. I miss you Elke and family!~XXX000
A big thank you as always to our lovely hosts for all these wonderful linky parties.  I enjoy your comments and will be sure to come and visit you.
Diy, thrifty home decor. Painting furniture, crafts, stenciling, burlap projects.

It is so sad when a good friend moves away. Just not fair.

Now modge podge queen. Paint and podge what will she do next! If you like monograms you can use it on those cocktail napkins with your initial and the paper part fades away and just leave the monogram.

    Just thinkin’
