How does your gardens grow? Check out my MOM’s WOWZA!~

By Debbiedoo's Team Published: Jun 22, 2011 · Modified: Apr 13, 2016

Genes are  a funny thing. Sometimes you get passed down some good traits, sometimes NOT.
In my case I have so many wonderful traits of my Mom’s..(toot toot)
However, gardening was not ONE of them.
My Grandmother was a wonderful gardener as well.  Let me share how my Mom’s gardens grow.  I can’t wait to see them in a few weeks.
My Mom and step Dad downsized to a town house around 5 years ago. Their property out in the Country was sprawling with Gardens….My Mom has made her little town house pretty sprawling too. This is leading to the back deck area.

My hostas NEVER looked like this.
You see those little garden peeps? She painted them all last summer.
There is her pretty little garden girl, hence her name on the web.  For those of you that she used to visit frequently, NOW you know where she has been.
Look at these roses…I wonder if she spray painted that little arbor?

My Mom is very into little details, and such cute ones. This is on her front porch.  Every nook and cranny is so cute to look at.

OK seriously, look at this idea .OH MOM you are so cute!!~

I am starting to feel really inadequate as a gardener…
Welcome to Linda’s home and gardens.  Thanks so much for stopping by.
If you are in the NYS region, and have any questions on birds or flowers, I am certain my Mom could help you.
Just pop me an email and I will forward it to her.

    Debbie,

Your mother sure does have a green thumb. Beautiful flowers and I see you have the decorating talent just like your mom. I love all of her beautiful displays. My favorite is the butterfly.

I'm like you Deb, my parents both had a green thumb but I sure didn't inherit those genes. Tell your mom that I think she does a super job with her gardens and she is so blessed to be able to grow so many beautiful flowers!

Your Mom has some amazing talent there…now we know where you get it from…well, except for the green thumb part…but, you know, you can't have everything. I'll bet you can drink her under the table? See? Everyone has something they are better at than their parents!

Love what she has done ..you'd never know it was a townhouse. I'll bet all her neighbos are envious! xo Diana

I got absolutely no gardening genes from the relatives! LOL I have had a brown thumb for a long, long time, so don't feel bad about yourself! We must be kindred spirits. Your mom's garden looks so pretty and full. I don't have that variety of hosta- mine stay small. I'm trying to change my thumb to green these days. It is a lot of work!!!

I have a book about gardening. It will tell you what plants deer DON'T eat. Years ago, I planted azeleia bushes and they were gone the next day. Now, I am smarter!! Deer don't eat hosta!!

You are a wonderful gardener!! I am sure you will pick up some of her details and show us a easy and thrifty way to do them too!!
