Fall basket and a snippet

By Debbiedoo's Team Published: Sep 5, 2010 · Modified: Feb 4, 2025

I have been decorating now for Fall all week. Came to a slow down as I have caught a cold! YUK, feel crappy, but managed to upload a few photos to share.
This was an old picnic basket we found at an antique store. I loved that it was green and have not changed the color. I had it on top of my entertainment center, and decided after seeing KIM’s (Savvy Southerner) Fall picnic basket,  I would do a little one too! Thanks Kim for the idea.

Nothing too exciting here, collecting dust actually! I cleaned up there while I was at it.

That looks a little happier now right?

I started on this side of the kitchen with the Fall decorating. I will be sharing more pictures soon.
Here is a summer look so you can see the change. Different valances, and the entire corner has changed some too.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend so far. I see I am almost at 1,000 followers. I just can’t thank you all enough for that! Hard to believe when I started in January, I never dreamed I would even get 100 let alone 1,000.  I certainly am humbled and will do something special very soon for that milestone.

Your fall touches are very cute! I love that used the picnic basket as a vase. It's so hard to think about fall when it's still 90+ degrees out, but your vignette makes me want to get started!

Debbie! Im in total deco mode! Too bad all I can find at yard sales in Mexico are junky clothes. No scores this weekend but Im off to San Antonio this week and hitting all the goodwill stores along the way. Im doing a "Texas" theme with a contemporary twist. Im searching for saddles to make into chairs and barbed wire for crosses and stars for my wall. Any ideas?

Now I love your olden picnic basket with the fallness of flowers in it! Love the look and can't wait to see all you've done. I just may have to be a copy cat about your basket! 🙂
    Be a sweetie,

My mom had a picnic basket just like that that we threw away when we cleaned out her garage. I am kicking myself right now! That is so cute!
