Dollar tree Butterfly silhouette vase

Hi there everyone!
Whoot, Spring is in the air!

Today, I dug out my Spring box, and it was liking hitting the lottery for me.

I forgot a few crafts I had done last year, that I never got around to sharing.

This one was really neat, fast, and cheap!

I made a Dollar tree butterfly silhouette vase.

Last year and the year prior I had made a few cute Springy things out with these foam cut outs from the Dollar tree.

Spring bunny on a canvas

Butterfly mixed media art work

and an Easter chick on canvas.

I believe spray paint was all involved on these projects, and you can go check those out as well.

Again, all cheap, and cute to scatter about the house for Spring.

These are the foam cut outs you buy them in a pack of 5 I believe for a dollar.

Foam butterfly from Dollar tree

They have butterflies

bunny rabbits

and chicks, or at least they did in past years.

glass-vase

All you do for this project is take a plain glass vase,

I then took my butterfly foam cut out

and taped the back of it to stick on the vase.

Took my spray paint

Blue Ocean breeze I used for this one by Krylon,

and sprayed very lightly around the vase.

After letting the spray paint dry,

I gently removed my foam butterfly

and have this gorgeous Butterfly silhouette.

I then filled it with colored grass and some foam eggs and flowers also found at the Dollar tree.

Nothing that special, but cute enough to say

S P R I N G!

Oh my goodness, I really love this. I love the way the eggs and grass peek through. Also, what a great way to use an old vase that has hard water damage that will NOT come clean. I have some of those. Don’t judge me…

Hi Debbie, this is adorable. When I walk around the dollar store, I think…”what would Debbie-dos”. You are so creative and see beauty in everything. I love that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to execute the projects you share. Most anyone could do them.
How is the new driver doing? I bet all the neighbors are staying off the streets. LOL!

Whoa. This one is awesome! I thought first that this is only an image, like a sticker in a vase yet I have seen the whole process and the outcome looks great! Seems like I have a good day to enjoy a DIY craft today. Cool!

Debbie, that’s so smart! I can’t believe you didn’t share this right when you did it. Maybe you had too many other things to share though. I love that this could be done on a big vase like yours, or on a smaller one with smaller foamies–so cute!

Not sure how I missed this last year, but I love the butterfly cutout on the vase. This is something I can do!! I am so ready for spring here. We’ve had two big snow storms, a week apart, that dropped 10+ inches. Brrr.
