DIY cake tier

By Debbiedoo's Team Published: May 5, 2012

Hello, hello there!

Happy Saturday to you all.

This diy cake tier is by no means the first  in the land of blogs.  It’s just today, that I decided I needed a little snack tier for my boys when they came home from school.  Those boys come home ravaged and tend to go for cookies, and stuff I really do not want them eating before Dinner time.

We love pistachio’s! And they are a satisfying treat as well!~

Clementines are another favorite snack!

I already had the pretty plates on hand.

What I did for the stand, is spray paint a crystal dollar tree candle holder. {Jade} Is the color I chose.

It is a pretty contrast between the white and light blue plates.

Jack wasted no time digging into the healthy snacks!

He even asked “Mom did you make this thing”?

Yes, Jack, with my own two hands I did!

Thanks for stopping by today!~

LOL Jack is too cute….What a great idea! We never have anything nice like that at our Dollar Tree….just cleaning supplies and paper products! I love the jade….it is a very nice contrast. Enjoy your Saturday!

I LOVE pistachios, too. I don’t buy them that often because we can sit down and clean out a whole bag.

I don’t know….. I love pistachios myself, so might have to put out double because I’m sure to eat most of those.

      Hi Debbie,
      I love your cake tier.
Clementines are so yummy. My youngest son loves them. We try to keep pistachios in the house at all times. They do make a great snack.

Debbie, I know it is the back of his head, but that is still a great picture of Jack. I loved that he asked about your plate, it is so cute. I know with my son, when he got home from school he would eat anything I put out, which was healthy snacks, where if I left him on his own it wouldn’t be!

What a nice tiered stand! I like how simple it was to make using things you already had on hand. Aren’t pistachio’s the BEST thing ever???? We’ve been eating those around here and they don’t last long. Wish they weren’t so darn expensive too. Thanks for sharing your project!

Love this idea. I was just looking at those candle holders yesteday at the dollar tree. I’d never thought about painting them. I just love the idea! And I’d eat a handful of those pistachios if I could get my hand through the computer. (smile) LOVE pistachios. Thanks for sharing such a great idea Debbie.

I only used my glue gun on the top and bottom. Seems to be sustained Ok so far. However, if you want it more permanent I would go with gorilla glue.
