Decorating a Halloween mantel

By Debbiedoo's Team Published: Oct 22, 2013 · Modified: Sep 9, 2015

This is called the lazydecorators Halloween mantel.

You want to learn how to decorate your Halloween mantel the lazy way?

Good you came to the right place.

Basically, I decorated the Halloween mantel over the Fall mantel.

Rooster-and-sunflowers

Just layering a few extra thousand things on top did the trick as I am about ready to show you.

The dollar tree webbing really makes it too.

I did not take everything down from our Fall mantel because for one,

I really liked it,

and for two I did not want to have to do it all over again November 1st. Before you know I will be decorating for Christmas.

YIKES!

Purple vintage bottles

Most of you already know

a lot of our seasonal decor comes from the Dollar tree, and Homegoods.

I have already shared our Halloween vignette side table

and our Halloween porch.

You can’t beat the Dollar tree for seasonal junk, I mean decor.

I see some of the same stuff in other stores marked up three times the amount.

This little light up pumpkin for example I saw at our local grocery store selling for 4.00.

Dollar tree is where I found mine.  Same exact!

Halloween mantel with crows sunflowers and witches

Dollar tree crows and black roses added to the urns.

Halloween crow mantel

So as you can see what I mean, the lazydecorator just layered and layered more stuff on top of what I already had.

Webs, crows, banner and few spooky accessories.

The banner I bought off Etsy a few years back. I think it is so cute.

Simple skull added and witchy poo over there came from Home goods a few years ago.

So there you have the lazy way to decorate your Halloween mantel.

Just layer on top of your Fall and you get one HOT mess.

I can’t believe I got here early enough to leave one of the first comments! I am not a big Halloween decorator but have enjoyed seeing what everyone is doing! Your plan would be mine too…..just adding on to what is there so I could leave it up through Thanksgiving! Looks great! I am so in love with that black fireplace.

Glad I am not the only lazy decorator out there! Although, in your case, I would say “efficient” decorator! And it looks great!

Scarily fantastic, Debbie! Lovin’ the splashes of purple (especially the bottles with the skulls on them) … the webbing is so cool, and I love seeing your vintage banner again (so cute)!!!

Looks good Debbie, I do no Halloween decor so it’s fun to see what others are up to.

Perfect for me, Debbie! I’m a lazy decorator when there are two things like Fall and Halloween on top of each other. I think you did a great job and it will be easy to take the Halloween stuff away and have just Fall back again.

I recently started following Debbie and I see your wonderful fireplace screen. That is so coppery wonderful! Now where did you find that gem? And the rooster pumpkin…did you trace your rooster stencil you have? I have a few roosters and this is something I need to do. Looks gorgeously Halloween!

Thank you so much. I forgot where the screen came from. Yes, I stenciled that rooster on the pumpkin. Should have mentioned that. Here is the link.http://www.debbie-debbiedoos.com/2013/08/how-to-carve-faux-pumpkins-with-a-hot-knife-tool.html

It doesn’t look lazy at all!! I do the same kind of thing, keep the basic fall things up then add in Halloween until Nov. 1st, then add in Thanksgiving .

Great idea, Debbie! I prefer the Fall-Thanksgiving decor, so I do very little actual Halloween stuff. I think your web looks perfect, but I’m afraid I’d end up with some of the real creepy crawlies if I put up webbing — EWWWW!

I wouldn’t call you the lazy decorator, I would call you the CLEVER, CREATIVE decorator!!!! Your fireplace and mantle look terrific!!! I don’t do Halloween decorating anymore, just do Fall. Now that we live here in a 55 plus community we don’t even get trick or treaters anymore:(:(
