Fall mantel 2013

Welcome to our Fall  into Autumn series.

Today I am sharing our Fall Mantel 2013.

For the next several weeks we will be sharing All things Fall and we are very excited for the upcoming season.

We hope to inspire.

Looking back and reflecting of mantels gone by, I sorta chuckled.

I mean sometimes, I wonder what I was thinking.

It’s kinda like hairstyles you always look back and say,

and I thought that was cute!

Today, I am sharing our 2013 Fall mantel.

I kept it pretty simple and only added a few touches of Fall to the family room so far.

Fall mantel rooster faux carved pumpkin

and of all the simple Fall decor, this little faux carved pumpkin is my favorite of all!

I bought a few new things this year at Home goods, one of my favorite places.  Their prices are awesome, and their decor is fabulous, imo.

It is the first time in a few years since I have bought anything new for Fall.

owl pillow

I have at least 10 bins of Fall decor that I have collected and made throughout the years.

It was time for a some new things.

I love my owl pillows.

They were I believe $14.99 a piece.  Bargoon!

Fall urn

Added some faux flowers and pumpkins to the urns.

paired up with my vintage books that I always have out on the mantel.

Fall mantel vignettes

The little owls I saw when I was in the check out line.

Two went in my cart and those were only $4.99 a piece.  They had all different colors too.

Fall mantel with sunflowers and rustic decor

Sunflower swag was $12.99 and the rustic swag of twigs I have had for years.

Rooster and sunflowers

The wreath, I have also had for years. I think I bought that at Walmart.

That too has the sunflowers so it ties in nicely with the swag.

I think the Fall decor is really looking good with my Painted fireplace makeover that I did last year.

Fall mantel decor 2013

The pumpkin is sitting on top of an old trunk

that I redid a few years back with Annie sloan chalk paint, and burlaped the top.

Fall mantel 2013

The rug is new and that we bought on ebay.

It is a pottery barn rug that we scored for less than 50% off, brand new.

They do not sell it this year in the catalog.

Fall mantel 2013 in family room

this is an arial view from upstairs.

Fall mantel and family room

this rug is also larger than our last one. It has every color that is in our home.

It is just perfect!

Thanks for stopping by today for our Fall series.

I love the autumn decor and the whole gorgeous setting with that distressed mantel, stained glass, etc. I love to decorate for fall, but this year I loved my summer mantel so much that I keep procrastinating the change. I will be sucking up by the end of the week to change it. Love to be inspired when I come here.

Simply marvelous! Just stopped by after visiting Manuela. Yours has such a unique flavor as well. It’s so cool to see all the creative ideas that everyone comes up with. I love your black distressed mantel. This year, I painted all my pumpkins, white, black, and green. I did a farmhouse style pumpkin theme in the kitchen and a coastal cottage theme in the living room. I’ll be joining your pinning party this week. All you ladies have really inspired me to think outside the box. After seeing all these gorgeous mantels, I may have to tweak mine a bit more.
