So it’s been around 5 weeks since our son has left home for College. I miss him. I really do, but I am very content knowing he is happy, thriving and pursuing his dreams. What more can we ask for right?
I am close with a lot of the Moms here who too are now a one kid-less family. Some now are even empty nesters. That must be hard I am sure and I am thankful we still have 4 more years of Jack home.
Today, I am sharing creative sweet treats packaging ideas! I decided to put together some care packages for the college students and of course I had to as my friends and family like to say, put the Debbiedoo’s touch on them. Today, I am sharing ideas for sending care packages to college students.
I have about 6-7 kids I am sending little goodies to. Now sure, I could stand here in my kitchen all day baking and slaving over some cookies. But why should I when the grocery store bakery department has such a nice and tasty variety of cookies.
Not to mention one of the kids has a peanut allergy. UGH! That must be awful too. It’s so nice that the bakery section actually carries a peanut and nut free cookie.
I couldn’t resist these cute cookies. Football season is here, and we know how college kids go crazy for their football team.
All these kids are spread out across the state and going to different universities. We have Clemson, (orange) USC (black) and College of Charleston, which I am not even sure of their colors but I do know they are near the beach. So I went with white and teal for the girls.
I put the cookies in ziplock bags to keep fresh. Then I wrapped the fabric around and tied a bow around the top.
Each container is personalized with a little something cute. Of course, this is where the kids will roll their eyes and say what does she think we are still 10 years old? Whatev’s….”you sassy young people just eat your cookies”! I had fun making these:)
The girls have a beachy box with their initials in bling.
The USC students have a personal box with their initial stenciled and an inspirational quote.
I hope this inspired you to send something to a College student you may know or may have yourself, simply “just because”. We miss them and want them to know we are thinking of them. Plus, I think it is fun to receive mail. My next send out will be a handwritten letter. Ahhhh…back to the golden oldie days!

I would love to offer my readers a $25.00 gift card of their own that perhaps you would love to do something similar for someone special. It’s always nice to receive something “just because” you are thinking of someone. Just leave me a comment and let me know who your “just because” may be.
