Outdoor back deck flowers and projects

Hi there everyone!

I just want to wish you all a happy, and safe Memorial day weekend.

I was busy yesterday planting our garden baskets, and some pots.  Thought I would share  a glimpse.

Not much of a gardener here so I do the best I can.

If you missed my recent outdoor garden post you will get some tips and tricks I have learned along the way.

You will also notice I mostly do shrubs and vines.

This year I tried some different container gardening but we shall see how that works out for me.

Walmart summer pillows

You may love these pillows, they are from Walmart at only 9.99 each.

They are super fun looking!

window boxes

I finally planted our outdoor window boxes.

Hopefully these African mums like it there.  I added some white petunias as well.  These take some harsh sun in front of the house.

Not sure what happened to one of my chalk painted pots.

This has never happened, but with that being said, I LOVE the look.

Tucked behind there is our diy log candle centerpiece.

rustic outdoor rooster

Little folky rooster.  I found this planter at Rite aid a few years ago.  Of all places the drug store.

outdoor garden 004

This roo got a quick makeover with rustoleum spray paint,

the color is called key lime.

These little  Annie Sloan Antibes green terra cotta pots are holding up great.

This is where my free pallet wound up.  Sad to see it leave the kitchen, but it seems pretty happy out here for now.

That’s a peek for now.

When everything starts thriving (hopefully) I will give you the full outdoor deck tour,

Have a wonderful weekend! Hope you enjoyed our Outdoor back deck flowers and projects.

Very pretty, Debbie! I love how the color of the marigolds picks up the same color in the pillows. They do look like a fun pattern for your deck, too. I am patiently waiting for my plants to fill in a bit as well.

    Hello Debbi,

Another great job done by Debbie……Love the colors as I do my carport in green and purple……Can’t get it finished as we have a nest of Robins out there and we don’t want to disturb them, but love your work……..

DebbieDebbie, it’s all so cute! I love planting flowers in pots. I planted on Saturday – finally! We lost almost all our boxwood plants due to the harsh winter we had 🙁 I’m so sad. We pulled them out and plan to just put in some mulch for this year. I planted my urns and some other pots and stuck a vintage bike with a cute basket in the empty bed at the porch. I put a potted chocolate mint in the basket and it makes me happy. Hopefully we can replant boxwood next year. And I will be babying them even when they are several years old!

Debbie I am new to your site and Love it. I need all the help I can get as I have a brown thumb, yet I LOVE to do our patio and front porch…I have an area that does not get sun and can never figure out what to do. Any reply with suggestions would be wonderful 🙂 I love the spray painted rooster, we did that with a vintage table and chair set for the front porch {red} it was fun.

I have a friend who loves to garden and she told me these plants are great for shade: You can put a lot of stuff in shady areas…bleeding hearts…astible…calla…hellebore, corabell. She was not sure on the spelling. Good luck! I need it too:)

Love all of your little roosters – I am having a yard sale soon and some of my roosters will be leaving the roost! Maybe they can run away to your garden!

I just LOVE the variety of planters that you have on your deck – especially the rooster ones. What a fun addition! Mine are all plastic planters (durable, but boring) and I just love your creativity. 🙂
