Updating your home decor

By Debbiedoo's Team Published: Mar 27, 2013 · Modified: Feb 21, 2015

Updating your home decor.

Sometimes, it can be your lucky day when you are a hoarder.

WHAT…………..

you don’t hoard your decor?

Well, I do,

and I say I have no closet space.

mmm hmmm…I do have plenty, I just don’t like to get rid of much.

Today, was my lucky day.

Update the outdated home decor

I found a roo in the closet that I have had for years.

rooster 001

He is just  a cheopo plastic resin one that I believe I picked up at a thrift store some time ago.

Certainly nothing wrong with this good looking fellow.

He just needed a little sprucing  up.

rooster 003

My kinda color right here.

Bright, cheery and just perfect for Spring and Summer.

rooster 005

After I painted him and let him dry for an hour or two. He then got a

coat of dark wax, and lightly distressed look.

rooster 011

He feels refreshed and ready!

rooster 015

In a happy little corner of our Country Kitchen.

Thank for stopping by today.

I hoard all of my decor. I got rid of some things last spring and I am so mad at myself for letting my stuff go. I love the color of Roo, he looks good in green. 🙂

It’s amazing the difference a coat of paint can make! Now, he looks very hip.

I hoard stuff too. I have a closet for just such a purpose, and it’s getting kind of overgrown these days. I need to pull something out for craft therapy.

Love the rooster! And the color is lovely! But, I beg your pardon but we are NOT hoarders! We are recyclers, up-cycles, restorers, saving the world from trash, treasure finders, historians, preservers of vintage ….I can go on, but I’ll stop……LOL
