Tuscan inspired home tour in the Pacific Northwest

By Debbiedoo's Team Published: Feb 8, 2013 · Modified: Feb 4, 2025

THIS home tour is no longer available as the blogger who was a guest removed her blog and content from the web.
PLEASE VISIT my HOME TOUR GALLERY HERE for other amazing tours.
Welcome to the Pacific Northwest!
One of my favorite blogger friends, Debbie, from Debbiedoo’s asked me to be
apart of her amazing Home Tour Series.
I was absolutely thrilled when she asked me to
participate, thank you so much, Debbie! 🙂
I’m Liz from The Tuscan Home
and I share this home with my sweet hubby and four
girl’s, ages 12, 11, 10, and 8. We purchased this home last May.
Our home is 3685 square feet, 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, with a basement
and bonus room.  The first room I would like to share is the
kitchen, the heart of the home, I always like to say! 😉 Our kitchen is
small, but cozy!
 I love to accessorize! 😉
I added these decorative iron gates to our kitchen
window to make it a focal point.
I absolutely adore Tuscan Style decorating, so
I’ve been slowly incorporating earthy Tuscan colors here and
there.
Last summer, I hung an old vintage ladder above the
Dining Room table which is so much fun to decorate through the
seasons. As you can see in the photo, the ladder is all decked for
Spring! 😉
Curly Willow branches along with yellow, green, and red flowers
add that fresh pop of spring color!

I hung a yellow spring wreath from my curtain rod using burlap
ribbon and it ties in nicely with the floral picks on top of
the ladder.
Our dining area is very casual, but comfortable and
cozy!
I like to refer to our hanging ladder as our “Blooming Ladder”
… 🙂

Sitting beneath the ladder is like having breakfast, lunch, and
dinner under a canopy of flowers.

This is our home office where I love to sit and blog and read
others blogs for decorating inspiration!

Our Master Bedroom is still a work in progress, so this is all I
can share for now. 😉
This is a shot from the foyer looking in towards the
kitchen.
I placed some vinyl wall art above the front door saying: Make
each day…Your Masterpiece! It’s a great reminder to make the best of
each day. 🙂
Ok, so here is the story on how we ended up with two theaters,
it was purely by accident, I promise you! My hubby placed an
order for everything in Theater 1 (audio, video, speakers, surround
sound, etc.. etc..) and then began to have the dreaded buyers remorse,
so he went on Craigslist to see if there were any less expensive deals.
Guess what happened, he found a gentlemen that was moving and
selling his ENTIRE theater system for next to nothing. It was such a
good deal, we couldn’t pass it up. We went to the mans house and bought
his whole system “assuming” we could cancel our order we just placed,
just a few hours before. WRONG! So, the rest is history, we were stuck
with two theater systems.  We had an
empty basement and decided to set up shop with Theater #2.
Below is Theater #1…
We are an Audiophile family and we love to spend time
together listening to music and watching movies!
The kids love to have their friends over to play video
games, too!
We save so much money having a theater of our own, as
opposed to going to the movies!
Theater #1 is in the BONUS ROOM upstairs, (i.e.) the kids
hangout! 😉
Here is the basement before the theater.
Here is the basement now!
The kids like to play checkers and games in this area of the
basement. There is also a TV  for regular TV watching, so we don’t
burn out the bulbs on the projector! 😉

Here is my Home Decor/Storage Room
(every girl needs one of these)
I love this space, because home decorating is easy
when you know where everything is and everything has it’s own place. 🙂
This is where all the magic happens.

Whenever I feel the need to change things up around the house I
always run down to my basement shop, as I like to call it, and
look for items I
may want to decorate with.

It’s so nice to be organized. I used to have all these items
in stack-able bins, which made searching for things very
difficult. Adding storage shelving made it so much easier!
😉
Here is Kailey and Karley’s Room!

Well, this concludes our home tour. Thank you all for visiting,
and thank you for having me Debbie! 🙂 XO ~Liz

Wow, I’m impressed! My husband would love having two home theater rooms. We watch movies at home too because home is so much more comfortable in my opinion. And like everyone else, I’m envious of that storage for the seasonal decor. I’m trying to keep my decor for each season together, don’t have any one place I could even consider to keep all of it in the same place. My inlaws had a storage ROOM before moving into a smaller house for their retirement years. It was the 5th bedroom on the floor plan and was a room lines with shelves where they keep everything that normally falls out of the closets all over the house. I’ve always said everyone should have a room like that.

My question might sound a bit critical at first, but that’s not my intention…promise! My front door is like yours, except that the door has windows, AND the sidelights…uggh! Right?

When you’re sitting where you can see the door, does that one always-covered sidelight bother you? I’m pretty darn creative, & your strategy is the one I imagined as well. I also thought about drapes on swing arms??? We have 3 French doors across the front, so I need them to look kind of symmetrical.

We have practically the same tastes, so we might just have the same the same ticks. Please give me you input. This door has worn me out!

    Oh…and your home is lovely!

I absolutely love, love this home tour. I have started incorporating Tuscan and Old World touches in my home but I’m stuck at the moment. I want to do a vignet above my tall entertainment center (12 foot ceilings) but I’ve looked and looked and can’t find any decorative pieces to start my project. I was thinking of a large iron candelabra as the center focal point and building from that. Could I send you some private pictures of the room and this piece for you to help me figure out what to do?

I REALLY THINK THE DINING ROOM SET DOES NOT LOOK TUSCAN NOR THE HUTCH IN THE ROOM IT LOOKS MORE COUNTRY. NEED HEAVIER CHAIRS, UPHOLSTERED AND LOOSE THE WHITE. HEAVIER LOOKING TABLE , ALSO IN YOUR ENTRY WAY ANOTHER WHITE TOP CABINET LOOKING THING IS TOTALLY WRONG. I DID LIKE THE REST OF THE HOUSE THO. MY HOUSE IS ALSO FURNISHED IN TUSCAN, SO I APPRECIATE YOUR TASTE.
