Halloween tree and mantel

By Debbiedoo's Team Published: Oct 9, 2014 · Modified: Sep 24, 2017

Hi there everyone!

So glad you are visiting me today.

Today I am sharing our Halloween tree and a Halloween Mantel.

Halloween mantel and tree

I love Halloween.  Hopefully, you don’t mind it either.  It’s just a fun whimsical time, and although our boys are older

I still think they sort of get a kick out of it.  I just have a ball decorating for the festive day ahead.

My little trip to Michael’ s a few weeks ago was successful  When I picked up a few things to make my Monogrammed pumpkin I decided because there was a big sale I could purchase a few Halloween ornaments too!

Halloween tour

Halloween tree

Let’s start with my Halloween tree.

Better known around here as my Charlie Brown tree.

Last year I bought this tree and kept it up until after Valentines day.

The husband was a little over it at that point.

You can check out my Charlie Brown Christmas tree and Valentines tree as well if you have a second.

Family room Halloween decor

The theme around here was lots of skeleton heads.

These ornaments I found at Michaels for 40% off.

I bought all my ornaments there this year. This was my first Halloween tree and I am sure I will continue each year.

Even when the boys are off to college..why not!

Halloween decorations for tree

I tied some cute orange polka dot ribbon on the ends of a few branches.

A little bit of creepy sparkle

I kept my Fall wreath up, you may recall seeing it in my Sunflower Mantel post,

and just added the Happy Halloween sign and a crow.  I figure after Halloween I will put my Fall mantel decor back up until after Thanksgiving.

Why make too much work for myself when I can work with what I had already there.

Martha Stewart paper banner for Halloween mantel

This banner is my favorite. Pre cut by Martha Stewart.  I think the entire pack was $5.00. It is a big pack and more that just what you see.  You can make lots of banners.

Halloween mantel

This year was probably the easiest Halloween mantel I have done.  Usually, I go a bit hay wire, but because of the tree, I kept it a bit more simple.

Those little white pumpkins are my Fall Dollar tree pumpkins I did a few weeks ago.  I simply turned them around and hot glued creepy spiders on them.  Two for oner!

Happy Halloween tree

 Thanks for stopping over today!

well that tree and all those decorations made me smile. Nicely done Debbie. I love the Charlie Brown Tree, been looking for one myself. My husband ask me why I still decorate Halloween, the kids are grown and gone, but now with 6 grandbabies I can still be a kid at heart. Like you said, “why not?” Hugs.

Hi Debbie! The tree is so cute- I’ve never done one for Halloween! Michael’s has a lot of cute stuff this year and their sales help a lot! The mantel looks cute- the chain is a fun affect and I like the wreath on the fire screen. I’m going to add some black ravens to my mantel for Halloween and then just remove them so I’m back to fall!

Oh Debbie, I just love this. That tree is is just perfect, and your other decorations so darn clever. I know several people who keep a small tree seasonally decorated all year. Thanks for sharing your Halloween decor. Peggy

I love all of your Halloween decor. I need to dig my stuff out of the attic, but 90 degree days are keeping me out of the attic and keeping me from getting any work done.

I love your Halloween decor. Cute is the way to go…gory and scary is not my thing either. As for your sons appreciating your efforts – I didn’t do much holiday decor outside of Christmas as my Sons got older. I started again in a big way for all Holidays when the Grandkids came along. Now, I wish I had never stopped. I have a very serious 39 year old son whose face lights up when he sees my holiday decor. I missed years of that beaming smile because I didn’t think my all male household cared. It turns out they all liked it, they were just too cool to tell me – including my Husband. Now, my Sons are all into making their homes festive for holidays…..their wives and children love and appreciate that about them. I’m always amazed by the things we pass on to our sons.

It’s funny that you say this Jan. The other evening when I hosted bunco the girls asked me if I was going to stop doing all this when the boys were gone. I really couldn’t answer that on the spot. I like it myself truthfully, so maybe I won’t. They also said, they sure hope when they are married someday their wives decorate like this otherwise they may say “My Mom decorated for everything” LOL! Wouldn’t want to put that pressure on my future daughter in law:) Thanks for stopping by and leaving such a nice comment. XO
