Diy memo board from Plain ole to fun!

By Debbiedoo's Team Published: Apr 22, 2013 · Modified: Jul 16, 2013

Hey, hey there everyone!

Hope your having a great start of the week.

It’s chilly here today:(

I think Spring tricked us!

By now you all know  I really enjoy doing different diy crafts in our Kitchen per season.

I always add a touch of whimsy to change things up.

On the frugal, I won’t say cheap, I will say frugal, because that is what I am.

I don’t mind spending on something special, but if I had to spend big on all our decor, let’s just say, the boys would not be going to college.

Sooooo…

I found this plain ole memory board at Marshall’s for under $20.00.

memo board

I liked the size of it, and because I change out behind our stove a few times a year this seemed reasonable.

Do you think I could just have a plain ole memo board around?

Absolutely NOT!

Stenciled letters

I just wanted to stencil something simple.

Pretty generic actually.

Memory board scap booking theme

If you like scrap booking, you may find this little project fun.

I basically took items I had on hand

and created a fun little recipe, board.

Old recipe books, embellishments, and old tarnished silverware.

Painted rooster in Louis blue Annie Sloan chalk paint

Of course my roosters had to gather round too!

this little guy I painted last year in Louis Blue Annie Sloan chalk paint.

I don’t believe I ever even showed you.

French bees on a memo board

The memory board even came with the cutest little bee stick pins

Burlap sunflower

The Burlap sunflower came from Hobby lobby

It sure makes for a cute little conversation piece…on the frugal and on the fun!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Hey not sure if you follow me along on Facebook, but I sure would love to see you over there!

FYI, I did this project a while back. It has already been changed since.

Happy Earth Day! I picked up litter while walking with my grandson and talked about caring for our Earth and planted some seeds today. Love, Linda

Well that is just sweet and wonderful. I talk to my boys all the time about littering…since they were young. I just hate litter. Happy Earth day to you too.
