Caramel brownie Heath bar bites

By Debbiedoo's Team Published: Feb 7, 2016 · Modified: Jun 6, 2016

What can cure a girl more than chocolate?? I will say first and foremost are wonderful, kind, full of wisdom friends like you! You have no idea how you lifted my spirits and confidence after I shared my in a slump post. I really needed the positive reinforcement, as child like as that may sound.  I wasn’t sure what to expect.  It could have gone completely opposite and I could have received a lot of negative feedback.  You can’t believe the bullies on the internet that I see, and actually have experienced in the past.  You not only restored my faith in peoples overall kind heartedness, but you really made me reflect on more things.  Y’all even gave me some great suggestions.  I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I read every single one of your comments, some twice over.  I also, received a lot of private emails not only from readers, but from fellow bloggers and friends.  This community is amazing.  Women lifting one another is so empowering.

Debbie

(Me with my new attitude) Move over youngens, this old lady ain’t going nowhere HAHAHAH!)

With all that said, moving forward in a positive direction, I decided to make a decadent dessert. Cheers to the big booty!  Today, I am sharing caramel brownie Heath bar bites.  A few years back I made slutty brownies for the party, and OMgosh..are those to die for too.  In fact, I still get hits and views on that recipe every day.  Slutty brownies here

We are attending an annual chili cook off Superbowl party.  My husband made the chili this year and man oh man, is it good.  He experimented and put a twist on chili.  It’s a Thai chili that is a true flavor bomb of authentic spices and herbs.  If I get him to sit down long enough next to me at the computer I will share the recipe.  This is one of “those” recipes that are not fast and as easy as mine.  Not hard though, so I shall see what I can do to get it for you.

Thai chili recipe

Yesterday we took a ride up to Clemson as I mentioned to spend the day with our boy.  It was wonderful! The drive was beautiful, the sun was shining and everyone was excited to be together.  I love to see Alex and Jack now that they are older inner act with one another.  Nothing melts my heart more than seeing them laugh, talk, and at the end of the visit hug and tell one another “I love you bro”.  Jack looks up to Alex so much, and thankfully Alex has been a wonderful big brother example. We did something right, that is affirmation in itself.

Recipe ingredients:

One box of brownie mix (any kind you like) I used the Duncan Hines triple chocolate.  Heck, I was in the mood, so I went for the triple.

One bag of Heath bites (found in the baking section)

Cupcake liners

Caramel topping in the JAR

and sprinkles are optional for a little color.  I used some red sugar sprinkle just for color.

If you like Molten lava cake, then you will LOVE this recipe.  That is what it reminded me of.  My friend Cathy actually shared the recipe with me last week.  She was at a party and a gal made them and she asked for it.  Cathy too described it like molten lava cake.  It sort of melts in your mouth.

Mix the brownies according to the box.  I used the more gooey option instead of the cake option.  I only used one egg, for that version.  Once the brownies are mixed, have your oven set at 350 degrees in the meantime pre-heating

Place your cupcake liners in a cupcake tin, lightly spray the liners with non stick cooking spray.  Spoon in brownie batter half way in the cupcake liners.

The caramel must be warm, but it calls for running it under hot water for 1-2 minutes, NOT heating up in the microwave.  The hot water running did the trick, and the caramel was nice and creamy.  Top a nice size teaspoon on top of the batter and sprinkle the Heath bar bites on top as well.

Bake for around 16-17 minutes, but keeping a close eye on them.  Ovens vary.  I did not want to overcook them.

That time was perfect for me.  I took them out, let them cool and then sprinkled the red sugar lightly on top. Oh and I did add a few more Heath bar bites once they were cooled for the texture, because they do melt when baking.

I had to try, just one and they seriously melted in my mouth.  I have a feeling these are going to go FAST at the party tonight.

Thanks for stopping over.  I am so happy you are here with me and again, thank you for your support and kindness shown.

XO

Debbie I’m sorry I didn’t reply to your last posting but things here have been a bit crazy. My hubby was supposed to start chemo today and the doctors have decided to do a biopsy of his lymph nodes and then they will know better how to proceed. Anyway I wanted to tell you that I do love your blog. You always have great ideas and your recipes are to die for. Please don’t change things. You are always sweet and never snarky like some other bloggers. I learn a lot from your blog. Thanks.

Oh, dear. Here I’ve been on a complete sugar jag ever since the holidays, even my pj bottoms are all of a sudden snugger! I was doing so well the last week avoiding temptation and walking longer distances and then….. Debbie posted THESE!!!

I love Heath bars, caramel and brownies and these sound scrumptious! Thanks, Debbie, for the yummy temptation! I’ll try to hold off while I lose a few pounds before I make these! That will probably not last long! LOL

Yes, I had no business making these LOL. I bought a pair of jeans at Goodwill today and they are a bit snug. Looks like I bumped up to the next size:(.
