Bohemian modern kitchen tour

Bohemian modern kitchen tour

Hi there friends. Since I finally feel like we have settled in our empty nester part time condo, I thought I would share the updated look.

My previous posts were very scattered, and not complete. I think for the most part, we are done! The lovely thing about a smaller space, mean less ‘stuff”. Although if you were to ask my husband he would say, I am starting to fill it up in there. Everything needs warmth and texture, no matter what style. I am not really sure what to call this style. It’s modern, with bohemian touches, and some vintage pieces thrown in here and there. What do you call that? We call it us:)

You can find the BEFORE KITCHEN look HERE

The kitchen is a galley style with a space in front of the window for a table, or high top. I chose a little outdoor garden table that fits the space just right. In lieu of my husband having to wire a light fixture, I chose a Macrame hanging shade. We do have plenty of overhead lighting, so this is just for the “look” and warmth. The #LOVE pillow I found at Goodwill. The curtain panels came from Walmart. Someday I will change out the blinds for something more in a woven style. For now, these work!

My recent Dollar tree Christmas Wood Cutout projects HERE will probably go over the cafe table. I will hang them in different lengths…I think?

Mike has always wanted a Kegerator. He deserves a cold one once in awhile and this was the perfect location to have one. I’m enjoying it as well, so it is a win-win. The big deco poster we have had for years. It was in one of our first homes and I have not used it in years. It is covering the electrical box here and fits just right. One of the first things I did was paint the pantry door. I mixed white and black left over paint we had. I then finished off with a pantry decal. Sure does make a difference.

You will notice in the kitchen, as similar to the guest room, I really am not matching many things. It works for me and it brings in color in which I love. This style is certainly nothing like our main hub. HERE, we have a country rustic style. You can check out our country rustic kitchen HERE

The tile floors are original and were in good shape. The grout however, was dingy and need of either re-grouting or paint. I found this amazing grout renew that took me no time to do. I used a toothbrush and had the whole floor finished in an hour. I went on to do the bathrooms as well. I will be linking all these sources at the end of the post.

I only put a few things above the cabinets. A tea pot set that was given to us by my Father-in-law, which was Mike’s Grandmothers. It’s so pretty and just perfect in that corner. Then as you can see a simple basket. I have splashes of red, and the peacock blue Keurig coffee maker. I love blue, and have a touch in all the rooms.

The dandelion valance is the finishing touch. The window does have a blind on it, but I keep it up. We overlook a pretty dog park and pond. I love looking at the cute dogs every morning going on their walks.

Hope you enjoyed our Bohemian Modern Kitchen tour

Hi Miss Daisy, not yet. We have been mostly exploring the city of Charleston. I think that may take about 2 years to get through LOL. It’s a small city, yet packed with so much to do and see. We love it. Thanks for your visit.

I’m with you…I love color! I don’t really have a “style”. I believe it should be what you “like”.; not trying to please others. I love your website! Thanks!

Love it! What paint did you use on the cabinets or are they new? Much better than the old look.

No paint, they are new, and basic grade cabinets:)
