Beachy classic in Cali home tour

By Debbiedoo's Team Published: Jul 12, 2013

Hi guys!

Welcome to a Beachy classic in Cali home tour.

I’m so excited to be sharing some of my home over here at Debbiedoo’s… thank you so much Debbie for the invite!
I think my favorite room makeover to date is our Master Bedroom. I like to call it our Oasis.

The walls are painted in BM’s Serenta Blue and I painted the focal wall behind the bed with a subtle stencil. The cheap mini blinds got a makeover into beautiful roman shades… a super easy DIY project.

I love how relaxing this room is. The perfect place to escape.

Our downstairs bathroom got a board and batten treatment on one of it’s walls.

I love adding wall treatments to a room. It’s amazing what an architectural detail will do to a space. The white and blue combo along with the beach details fits perfectly.

My youngest daughter’s bedroom is girly in pink and mint green. I did a fun paint treatment at the border with a folded paper plate to create an adorable scalloped edge.

This paint treatment is SO easy & SO cute for a little girl’s room.

Last fall my oldest daughter’s bedroom went from little girl pink to an ultra cool – perfect for a tween – blue ombre walls. Her bedroom is a beach theme and these ombre blue walls give her room that perfect feel.

Our oldest child is is turning 13 later this year, so his room has since changed… but I still LOVE his old headboard.

We made his baseball headboard with plywood, padding, fabric and yarn. He’s still a baseball boy, so it has a special place in my heart.

When we purchased our home the backyard was all dead grass and weeds… nothing else, oh except a 4×2 foot slap of concrete by one of the sliding doors.

We laid down some gorgeous pavers (can I just say I never want that job again) and built a pergola.

I’m in the process of updating the family room, but here’s where it is currently.

Hoping to replace the flooring and couch this year with a sectional and finally get rid of those nasty mini blinds. But I love my beadboard wall, burlap striped curtains and my new rug.

It’s all about making those changes as we can, right! I’m hoping to start tackling the kitchen later this summer with painting the cabinets (I’m dreading it!)

So there’s a quick look at my home.

Working on the kitchen next, so stay tuned, would love to have you over.

I hope you come love it as much as I do & I hope I’ll see you over at Domestically Speaking.

Thanks for sharing your home with us Maryann!

Hop on over and say hello if you are not familiar with Maryann

she has a lot of inspiring ideas, loves burlap, paint and more!

I love your style! Your color choices are so pretty. I especially like your outdoor pergolas, what a great idea to even extend the covering between the two. Great job!
