A tisket a tasket how about a garden basket! I’m on a dollar tree roll again. For the trifling amount of money I spend in there per season to decorate, I love it!
I just shared with you our Summer porch decor and my whimsical wreath I made with dollar tree goods.
That day I also picked up some baskets. I just loved the lime green color and thought they would be good for even some pantry organizing, snacks, etc. I went a totally different direction though.
I figured since I was ditching classy for sassy this summer, these baskets would make some cute hanging baskets.
So I picked up a few extra supplies while at Walmart today. A jump rope and two bandannas. They were just as cheap at the dollar store, but remember…. I didn’t have a plan at that point.
I lined the basket with the bandanna, and placed a better homes and gardens flower container inside. I really don’t mind if the bottom of the bandanna gets a little wet.
I tied the jump rope in a double knot around the handle of the basket and then tied a knot on top of the jump rope to loop around the existing hook, that my lanterns were on.
Adds to the colorful whimsy I have going on this summer.

What cute hanging baskets Debbie 🙂
Those look stinking adorable hanging on your porch!!!!
You come up with the cutest ideas. These baskets are so cute.
Those would make adorable centerpieces, too. I’m always looking for easy, cheap centerpiece ideas to use for the faculty/staff breafast and lunch we have 3 times a year at the small college where I work.
That is a brilliant idea!
Now that is original! And I’m a lime green person…….I made a cute fairy garden and put it in a box on my front porch. Any way I can send you a picture?
Sure I would love to see it. [email protected]
I just love the Dollar Tree! Cute basket idea and I love that you used the bandannas too!
So cheerful Debby … lime green is just perfect with your colorful porch this year. Great to have some blooming flowers too.
Love your inspiring ideas.

Awesome! Thanks:) XO
This is so cute and handy. This reminds me of a lant biology class a took a couple of years ago. My instructor taught is that most plants can grow in anything as long as it has good drainage and support. Our class was filled with improvised flower pots made from plastic cups and bottles, egg and milk cartons ?
