All Old and special

By Debbiedoo's Team Published: Nov 15, 2010 · Modified: Feb 4, 2025

We love Old things, have you figured that out yet? Last night we had some friends over and we were sitting around our pub playing games having a ball. One friend said to us, “what I love about you guys and your home is everything has a story and has meaning”! Well that is true for the most part.
Let me show you a cabinet in which I have never shown you before.  Not sure why, I think because it is tucked in a corner, as we have NO space for it anywhere else.  This 1940’s piece we scored at an antique shop in South Florida.  We were in our first home, really did not have a lot of extra money at the time. We loved the style, the color and that it would have a purpose for our dishes.  At a price of $350.00 we thought that was pretty good for an old curio cabinet, and we knew we would have it forever.
Now pardon the mess inside.  I have a beautiful collection of dishes, and some gorgeous tea cups that  my FIL just handed down to us.  THey were his Mom’s and they are all very old and beautiful.

I really need to take everything out and rearrange this cabinet…it is on my to do list

These truly are the prettiest tea cups I have ever seen.

THis old picture we just scored a couple of weeks ago….$20.00, we love the scene and the frame.

Next week I will share with you a fun game we played at our PUB last night…it of course had special meaning, and we let our friends participate in the ceremony.
I want to thank all of you for the support and friendship you have shown me.  Some I had no idea cared as much, however, your personal emails, and kind words were all so touching.  I have found the balance I so need.  Obviously as you can see I am posting in moderation, and that was the KEY for me. I am glad those three weeks away you did not forget me, and rip me off your blog roll HA!!~

    Hey Deb-

I must let you know that I actually thought about The Removel… but only for a mill-a-second. My gut told me you would be back. I'm so thrilled you have found the happy medium. It took me a while to figure it all out too. My guess is that you operate sort of like me…at FULL-Speed-Ahead.

Now about that other art piece… I think number 4. You know the cool one with all the color. Story, please…when it fits the schedule…..he-he…

aDORe the cabinet. It's it fun to have piece around that have a story to tell. Who wants to live in a Pottery Barn catalog any ways.

Enjoy your restful Sunday Morning. Can't wait to hear all about this game. We have game night with our friends too. And a pub visit is part of the fun.
