Back to school free printable

By Debbiedoo's Team Published: Aug 3, 2014 · Modified: Aug 17, 2015

Good Morning, afternoon, or evening, whenever you stopped on by.

Today is bittersweet.

We are sending our boy off to summer camp for a week.

He’s a handsome little rascal.  Looks like his Dad.  He has a heart of gold, talks a mile a minute and I love every single thing about this child.

However, it is about this time, the boys starts getting bored with summer.

Jack went to camp last year for the first time and had such a wonderful experience he asked to go back this year.

Why of course you can. Considering they go back to school here on the 18th of August, this was the perfect week to send him off packing.

This past week Jack and I were productive around the house.  He cleaned out all our freezers, refrigerator, helped with the garage and finally cleaned up his room. Don’t worry, all these chores came with a price.

I of course paid him…although come to think of it, he still hasn’t asked for the allowance, so maybe he forgot.

Biggest challenge of the week was his book case.  I believe we had every single book from toddler years on.

It was time to clear the book case out and make room for more.

I was actually sad going through the books.  I remember so many of them.  Bed time stories were big in our home.

Both our boys don’t care for reading much.  However, they do like a good story and if I read it to them, they were always delighted.

One of my favorite books ever was The giving tree.  I actually saved that book..perhaps even for me to read again.

I thought with school starting, reminiscing of days gone by

I would make a back to school printable.  This is great even for a teacher gift, or just to print and put in your child or grandchild’s bedroom on their night stand.

It’s a quote by Dr. Seuss, and those books were also my favorite, and the boys.  I could read those over and over to them and they never said Stop.

You are so blessed that your boys don’t go back until the 18th! That’s a reasonable time to go back IMO. Around here, the kids are already back. I hate that. (Not that it matters to me anymore, but…) I love Seuss quotes and love the printables you made. I think I want the second one. If I saw it earlier in the year, I don’t remember it.

Great quotes! I love “Oh the Places You’ll Go” A friend gave it to me when I graduated college, and I used to read it to my students at the end of the year as a send off.

Can you send Jack to camp at my house?? I need help cleaning! 😉

Such a sweet post, Debbie. The books are the hardest thing for me to get rid of as my boys get older. So many memories! Pinned this!

I could relate to everything you wrote in this post, Debbie! It’s amazing how looking at old books can take me right back to when my son was so little! We loved Dr. Seuss, also! Great printable – I love the quote!
