Vintage cane Lamp and shade makeover {Goodwill}

By Debbiedoo's Team Published: Aug 2, 2012 · Modified: Jul 24, 2015

Well, well, I wasted no time getting to this vintage lamp I scored at Goodwill the other day.

You remember it?

It certainly had potential for $3.99.

I knew it would go in our bedroom on the dresser.

I cleaned it up real good and decided it needed a little paint lift.

First, let me mention that Cane lampshades must be the in thing.

Horchow is selling this little  Cane lampshade for

$275.00!

Yeah, right, I don’t think so people!

So let me show you what I did……

The shade was a little wonky so I decided I would add a touch of burlap on two of the panels.

Of course a little flower embellishment!

This little burlap banner came off my pool noodle wreath!

I also trimmed it out on two sides with some french bumble bee ribbon.

I love this little lamp and it is a perfect addition to our Master bedroom!

Thanks for stopping over today.  If you are not  a regular, I sure would love to see you back again.

OMG-Now I KNOW I am OLD! I had that lamp (and a matching pendant fixture) in the little girl’s room in…READY FOR THIS….1978! I had wicker headboards and yellow and white bedding for them. They were ages 1 & 2. LOVE your makeover- xo Diana

Too sweet Debbie. Joe and I redo lamps and sell them weekly. CC may go to college a semester on lamps and I am not kidding. Lamps in stores are off the chain expensive just as you so well illustrated. Olive

Debbie, it’s darling! If there’s anybody out there who would pay $275 for a lamp shade, I definitely don’t have them in my company. That’s my car payment! What you did is super cute; I especially like the little banner embellishment. In other news, Dan’s makin’ spaghetti sauce today… the kitchen’s a wreck… Hope you’re having a great summer!
