Summer porch!

By Debbiedoo's Team Published: Jun 5, 2012 · Modified: Feb 4, 2025

Don’t you just LOVE summer?

I know I do!

When everything is so green and colorful.  This summer I went a little crazy with the color fun on the front porch.

You remember the garden table that was in our entry way?

I mentioned a time or two or three, it needed to be outdoors.

It got a new fresh coat of Bahaus gold spray paint, by Krylon.

Honestly, I did not do a great job on this.

I did not want it to be perfect.

Hopefully over time it will start getting rusty and chippy, as that is what I would like for it to do.

I had to paint some terra cotta pots with Annie Sloans Antibes green.

I made a vintage paper flower, and tied some twine on the other pots just for a little something something.

It ties in with my pool noodle wreath which you will be seeing shortly.

Lots of fun funky color out here!

We have another project in the making this Summer which I am so excited about.

It has to do with the front porch and Southern tradition.

My picnic basket garden planter is holding up well.

I have not killed the ferns yet.

picnic basket

This mod podged pot I did around two years ago.

Been holding up good as well.

A little faded but not too bad.

And there you have my colorful Summer porch!

Mike and I actually enjoy sitting out here and rockin on the chairs and just chit chatting.

I have fond memories of when we first moved in and our boys would be running across the lawn catching fireflies.

They had never seen them before moving to the Carolina’s. It was so fun to watch and bring back memories of my own, and catching fireflies.   Of course, I used to try to make a pretty ring out of those poor little flies.

Have a great day!

You forgot another “C” word… cozy!!!!!!! What a great place to sit and chit chat. Tom and I love to sit on the porch and talk. It is so comforting. We didn’t see a lot of lightning bugs in South Carolina, but at my parents’ house in Tennessee it is crazy. There are so many that the trees look like Christmas trees! I used to put them in a jar and watch them when I went to bed. That is so summer to me!
