30 minute stair riser makeover

By Debbiedoo's Team Published: May 5, 2016 · Modified: Feb 4, 2025

Hi there friends!! I am so thrilled with this 30 minute stair riser makeover, I had to snap some pictures and share with you right away.

Back around 5 years ago, I stenciled our stair risers.  It has held up fantastic no doubt, however, I grew tired of the look. I was either going to paint the risers all white or come up with something a little more snazzy.

So I went on an internet search to see what my other alternatives would be to jazz and update our stair risers.

That is when I stumbled upon Snazzy Decal.

It’s and Etsy shop owned by Pauline.  She was absolutely fabulous to work with.

Decorative Stair-riser is hot in latest home decorating scene, Snazzy designs has made it easy for you to uplift your stairs in just a peel away. These strips are self adhesive and can be removed easily without damaging the surface. Perfect for rented home and best solution to cover up unsightly old stair and make it into a conversation master piece!

❤ PRODUCT QUALITY:
They use only premium quality self-adhesive vinyl with UV protective print, all our decals are laminated with top coating for extra durability.
Waterproof and thus suitable for indoor and outdoor.
They stick well on any smooth clean surface over old tile, ceramic, glass or even metal.
Easily remove without leaving residues or damaging the surface.
100% opaque and cover up.
The decals can be easily trimmed/cut to fit.

I admit, I had my husband help me.  He was the peel n stick guy, and I was the smoother.  Between the two of us, we had this project done in 30 minutes time.

It was just that simple.

They came in a roll of single sheets, in 4 patterns each, already cut to size.  We did have to do some slight trimming on the ends, but no big deal.    I mixed up the designs instead of making it all uniform.  You can create your own custom look and as I mentioned your own custom sizes.

She even makes a tile back splash peel and stick option.

Pretty snazzy wouldn’t you say?!

Pauline sent me these stair riser peel and sticks in exchange for a review on my site.  I absolutely love them and I would highly recommend.  If I did not care for them, I simply would not have shared this with my friends and readers here.

    Debbie
The decals really made such a difference!
I love the way you mixed them all, instead of matching them all.
I’m going to check out Pauline’s shop PDQ.

Love this. This would be great if our house had wooden stairs.

I love the decals….they transform the stairs into a very rich look. Great Job choosing the pattern and lucky you to have a hubby that will help and let you actually choose to do it…and then ok the project. My husband would never allow me to put decals on our stairs….no way. He tends to shy away from things of that sort for some reason. OH well….I will have to be happy with just white paint. Wonderful design!

Love these…however I don’t have stairs. Perhaps they can be used as wall border? Going to check out the sight now. I have the same light wood throughout my home and it looks fantastic in yours. Thanks again for another winner!
