Modern girl!

By Debbiedoo's Team Published: May 25, 2011

Hopefully blogger is our friend today.

I had to step away yesterday and am returning now to see how it goes.
So a modern girl in decor I am not!
In fact, most of the the decor we have is OLD, and of sentiment.  You know that already if you have been my friend for a while.

Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate all styles, and I know certainly mine is not for everyone either. It works for us.
Old books, and my Grandfathers Rosary beads
Today Mr. was off  and we went out for lunch to have a little Thai food.YUM!
On the way back we decided we would hit some antique stores we have not been in for a while.
Well…let me tell you it was a lucky day indeed for us.
Cool hardware. Knotty pine, very sturdy solid piece.
For now I just created this vignette, but not sure if I love it.
I have been looking for a phone table for the family room.  I hate the phone on the kitchen counter, and the family room had a phone jack on a small wall. Obviously meant for a phone table.
I think it was made for this wall.
The best part about it for me, is that it reminds me of my Grandmother’s kitchen set, which is exactly like this.
My sister has the set and it is awesome!
And what is this next piece you are asking?
Do you know what it is?
I can’t wait to show you what we do with it.
There are two of these, and I literally stopped dead in my tracks…I knew exactly what I wanted to do, and told MIKE, without hesitation (first looking at the price of course) he agreed.
These are over 100 years old, solid wood, beautiful detail.
SCORE for both
$125.00 TOTAL!
Oh I just have to share this picture of Lucy with you…she hardly ever lays on her antique bed..but today she did!

NEWBIE party still going on

I think blogger is being much more friendly today. I almost fell out when I saw your post because I just logged on to blog a bit before watching Oprah's last show. I am sitting down with a treat bag that I just made of…m&m's, peanuts, and raisins. haha! Seriously! How funny is that? Love your new phone table it does fit that wall perfectly! I do indeed also know what those other two items are and cannot wait to see how you will use them..sounds like a wonderful afternoon out! 🙂

Oh my God!!! Someone that likes wood, and doesn't feel the irresistible urge to paint it!! I was beginning to feel alone on the planet! I love that small table, and it indeed looks like it was made for that space.
I have no idea what those beautiful thingies are, so I will keep an eye on you to see what comes of them!

Sounds like you were having blogger issues yesterday too. I thought maybe it was just me, you are the only other issue I have heard of. Love the furniture arrangement, so nice to have the family pieces that you can incorporate. Fab:)

Debbie, your new cabinet is perfect for you! Many kitchens in the 50's had that color pine cabinets…my mom's kitchen cabinets were exactly like it until she remodeled in the 70's. I love the cornice window valances(?)! At least that's what they look like! Can't wait to see what you do with them!

Hey Deb- Your new knotty pine table has just the right amount of "rustic" and it looks great in that spot. 🙂 Now that other item looks a bit like a fancy wooden valance, or am I just seeing things? Can't wait to hear what your plan is for them. It's storming here and I am wide awake! Wish this bad weather would stop and summer would arrive. Did we even HAVE a spring?
