Hey there everyone!
What’s shakin?
Not much here other than my booty from all these treats I am making:)
Today I am sharing how to make Rice Krispie treats with a twist.
Perhaps they have been done this way before but I can tell you I have never seen nor had them.
The boys LOVED them
I was shopping at Aldi’s so you do see some generic rice krispies here and oreo’s too!
You can’t tell the difference. Even in the oreo’s and I would know. I am no stranger to a ROW or two:)
Of course I did add a few more calories my way compared to just the plain rice krispie treats.
But that’s OK, a girls got to do what shes got to do.
Here is the recipe. You can whip these up in no time.
These were sitting on the counter when the boys came home from school. Oh btw that is chocolate lucky charms you see.
Not sure if it was discontinued and that is why Aldi’s had them. But boy are they good!
You can substitute with regular lucky charms as well.
Don’t forget to check out my recipe archives to find other yummy treats. I do have some low cal ones as well!
Pin it and make them later.
Rice Krispie treats with a twist
Ingredients
- 5 cups Rice Krispies
- 1 cup Lucky charms
- 7-10 Oreo's crumbled
- ½ stick of butter
- 1 bag of mini marshmallows
Instructions
- Spray bottom of a glass 9 x11 baking dish with non-stick Pam.
- In a bowl add your Rice Krispies and Lucky charms set aside.
- In a large pot melt half a stick a butter. Be sure it is on low you do not want to burn the butter. Add your mini marshmallows and continue to stir until melted completely.
- Add melted marshmallows to your bowl of cereals and stir with a non-stick sprayed spatula until all cereal is coated nicely. Spread in dish {using the sprayed spatula, you may need a new one} and add crumbled oreos on top or in the mix, I did both. Let sit for one hour before cutting.
- mmmmmm...mmmmmm...good!

Oh boy do those look and sound sinfully delicious and fattening. After being a pretty bad girl munching on a few too many goodies over the winter I”m having to be careful of my sugar consumption. Oh boy do I ever. Just couldn’t seem to get enuf naughty stuff so now have to be more careful, losing at least 5 lbs. , more would be better.
We;ve found store brand goodies are as good as expensive brands. Just have to give them a try at half the price. Happy Weekend.

What? Rice Krispie treats with OREOS? And with Lucky Charms? This would so totally hit the ball out of the park if brought them for some kid-filled function. I would be the popular old lady. I think I’ll make these this summer when they nag me about bringing something for vacation Bible school.
