How to Create a Fall Wreath Using A Scarf in 4 Easy Steps

By Debbiedoo's Team Published: Jun 20, 2023

If you love crafting whimsical home decor from unusual items, consider making a fall wreath using a scarf. This article takes you through the step-by-step process of creating a fall wreath from a scarf and other common items. It will really impress your friends and family.

1. Gather your supplies

  • Wire wreath form
  • Three scarves in fall colors, such as orange and black gingham
  • Fall greenery
  • Autumn-inspired metal words, like ‘Welcome’ or ‘Harvest’
  • Other embellishments
  • Hot glue gun

2. Wrap the scarf

Begin by wrapping a scarf around the wire wreath form. Tie it off when you’ve covered about a third of the form, then start with the second scarf, tying it to the end of the first. Repeat this process with the third scarf, letting the remainder of it dangle for a playful effect.

3. Add greenery

Glue the fall greenery to either end of the wreath, angling it in different directions for a natural and full look. Make sure it’s secured before proceeding. In addition to hot glue, you can use floral wire if necessary.

4. Attach metal words

For the finishing touch, hot glue your fall-inspired metal words onto the wreath. Choose a location that’s visually balanced and complements the design.

To ensure your wreath stays intact, apply a bit of hot glue at key points where the scarves are tied. You can also add more embellishments such as small pumpkins, pinecones, or cinnamon sticks.

LOVE that wreath. And it’s exactly what I need. I spent about 20 minutes going through my bins, looking for something for a wreath. Found NOTHING. Off to the store, and I’ll have a wreath soon! Thanks, Debbie. Hope mom is doing well.
