Chair makeover

By Debbiedoo's Team Published: May 16, 2010

Here is my first participation with a thrift store find. Have I ever mentioned there was a time I had a shabby chic room? Now you would never have thought that in comparison to our current style.  Our guestroom in our South Florida home was shabby chic from head to toe…I adored it, and it was a great place for guests to relax.  When we moved to the Carolinas I thought I would change it up a bit.  One birthday my husband had given me this very cool shabby chic chair to go in our former guest room, he found it at a thrift store in South Florida that specialized in Shabby chic finds.  When we moved here I had him store in our attic.  I seriously thought I will never use it, however, it did have meaning to me…the fact that he was so thoughtful to buy it.  The other day a light bulb went off and I remembered the chair was up there, so I asked Mike if he would pull it down for me.  I know he was thinking, oh geez another project! Yep it was,  fun, simple and totally transformed……

This project took me all of 30 minutes.  I bought the fabric at Hobby Lobby for $3.00. The paint I used was espresso color……

This fabric is so me…I love how everything came together, my recent lamp redo which I will show you later on this week,  and this chair, is totally custom to me!

ties into the bedding……which I will be showing you more of our guestroom soon

This is the after, it looks like an entirely different chair.

I very lightly distressed the edge of the chairs just to give it a more worn look.

Just a sneak peak into the guest room….I have a fun project I am working on…..
So let the party begin, what have you found lately? I will be linking up with some more awesome parties this week: Thanks so much to all these lovely hosts. PLEASE remember to link your post back to my party as well if you are participating.  And be kind and check out few other of these awesome posts.  These gals are so kind and I am sure they will do the same for you in return.

Diy, thrifty home decor. Painting furniture, crafts, stenciling, burlap projects.

I never tag sale and I really have been missing out when I see all the great bargains everyone gets while out on a hunt. I will definitely link up next week. Your chair came out fabulous; it looks like it was professional refinished, great job, girl!! Thanks for visiting and leaving your kind comment.
