Carving a faux pumpkin #2

By Debbiedoo's Team Published: Aug 26, 2013 · Modified: Aug 14, 2015

Hey there!

Hope all is well with you:)

Today I am sharing #2 of my faux carved pumpkins.

If you missed my rooster carved faux pumpkin you can check that out.

He is my fave so far.

Today I will share my painted with gesso faux carved pumpkin.

This one was fun and I got a little more creative.

Pumpkins for Michaels challenge 040

There is never a shortage of stencils around here. I have a ton of them.

I chose the fleur de lis for this little white pumpkin.

Painted it with my acrylic gesso.

I mentioned I found this gesso at Walmart in the craft department.

By accident if I may add. I had no clue what I was going to do with it, however I have come up with

a few projects so far

like my glass pumpkin

and my denim vase

I chose Cocoa brown rit dye for this pumpkin.

Oh but first I forgot to mention, I carved it with my hot knife and I give you those details with

my first faux rooster pumpkin.

easy peasy.

started at the top and let it drip down and dry naturally.

as you can see it dries somewhat crackled.

cute!

I will add a faux tea light to this fleur de lis pumpkin.

All done for today!

Debbie another score girl. You are going to town on these and I love this one wit the gesso for texture and the brown dye. Really like the carving too!

Too cute! It looks great with the crackle effect. I know you will decorate beautifully with these. Did you see the one my daughter did for me, years ago.
