Winter kitchen decorating ideas

Ho hum! It’s full blown winter here now in South Carolina.  Bitter, bitter cold for us.  We were spoiled for so long and when it decided to hit, it hit big time.  Today, I am sharing some winter kitchen decorating ideas.  I spent yesterday cleaning and purging.  Next, I have to hit up those junk drawers.  I only did the cabinets yesterday and moved around some decor here and there.

I had some things tucked away just waiting to change it up in the kitchen for winter.  I don’t know how all out I will go for Valentine’s.  I do know, the color scheme will not be all reds.

Let’s start with some more table cloth curtains!!  I bought this pretty Cynthia Rowley table cloth marked down at home goods.  I decided to just buy one, and cut it in half, hoping that would work and fit the window accordingly.

Tablecloth curtain idea

I bought one oblong table cloth 60×102 in size.  I cut it right down the center to make two panels.

Then, I got a little fancy here and did a double fold on top to create the balloon valance appearance.  HA! My husband thought they were totally new curtains and even remarked on how nice they look:)  Thank you honey..for $13.00 total, I think they look pretty good too.

Fancy shmancy tassels found in a two pack at Walmart for $4.00.

Table cloth curtains with tie back

This beat up blue dresser my FIL gave me back a few years ago.  I cleaned it up but I love the chippy goodness that it is.  Some gals break their backs painting a piece to look like this. This all in it’s natural old state.

Winter kitchen decorating ideas. Edison scentsational burner

I love this Edison burner I found at Walmart.( ScentSationals Edison Nautical Wax Warmer on line at Walmart). It’s like a scentsy burner that you put the waxed cubes on top and the bulb melts them to spread the aroma in the kitchen. I  LOVE it.

Winter kitchen vignettes

Rustic winter wreath

I changed out my Christmas wreath to a rustic twiggy wreath and added some faux wild flowers in blue and yellows.  I had the greenery already on hand.

Added some to my white pitcher on the table

The home pillow is in a blue felt type material adorned with texture and sequins.  I like the O, shaped in a heart.

Found that at Home goods a few months ago on clearance as well.

You are so right….some of these gals just about KILL themselves to get that look! Enjoyed this post a lot today. Made me smile. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

Beautiful curtains Debbie; just love the light airy feel of your kitchen! I’m hoping to find a pretty tablecloth and make a lovely window treatment for my living room. Winter always makes me think of making something light and Springy. Love the lighting over your table too. Nice new changes.

Very pretty winter touches, Debbie! I have to figure out what I’m doing once I get all the Christmas stuff back up in the attic. Right now I have a few blank spots (fireplace mantel and dining room chest and table), but I’m hoping something will come to me. Once the Christmas stuff is put away, I can add the coffee table to the blank spot list!

Love those drapes you made Debbie!….I always thought that the size of tablecloths can make great drapes. I used to make those round table skirts out of the very large tablecloths back in the day. I love your kitchen and that HOME pillow is beautiful! Thinking of you and Tigers….good luck!!!
