Some of my favorite photography!

By Debbiedoo's Team Published: May 31, 2011

I hope everyone enjoyed their Memorial day! We spent the day with friends on the Lake, Margarita’s and some great food! And I did not get  a sunburn!
Guess 30 sunblock really does work even for 6 hours!
One thing of  many things,  blogging has encouraged me to do, is to be a better photographer.  I still have a long way to go, but am having fun in the process.
Today I saw some cemetery pictures on my friend Pam’s blog.
I have to say these types of photos are some of my favorites.
Why? not sure, because I sure don’t want to be a resident there anytime soon.
But anyhow, they make for some beautiful photography.
These stones were beautiful, as they told just a little story…

If you ever want some practice, grab your camera and head on over to a cemetery.
Old churches are also fun to photograph, the windows, arches, such cool architecture.
Newbie PARTY still going on

HERE

So what is your favorite thing to photograph?

Diy, thrifty home decor. Painting furniture, crafts, stenciling, burlap projects.

I've really been enjoying all of the photos of the cemeteries with flags. There are some pretty awesome amateur photographers out there! I'm not sure what my favorite thing to photograph is…maybe my garden. 🙂

Hi Debbie, I'm going to look for that magazine you mentioned that your featured in. Not sure if we get it in Canada, but I'll be on the hunt for sure. 🙂 Is it the June or May issue? I'll look for both anyway!

Flowers and sunsets, the beach, and fall trees.I love my canon rebel, it is my favorite camera. My canon power shot is ok but it doesnt have the quality my rebel does. Only thing is I wished it was digital but it does take prettier pictures than my digital:) Your pictures always look so nice Debbie. I love the pictures you take of Lucy!

Thank you for the shout out. I love that sepia toned gate photo. It is as if you are being invited into the photo. I'm with you though, hope we don't become residents there for a very long time.

Great shots, Debbie. I love those old headstones. I think I like shooting vignettes the best.

I did exactly that a while ago…I love the architecture and stories of old cemeteries…I also found some lovely statues on my little tour.

My favorite thing to photograph? Inanimate objects, mostly domestic tabletop things. Also, I like trying out new subjects…things I haven't done before…like horses, dogs, hot-air balloons.

I guess it is the family I take the most pictures of…I've always loved photography though and have some old cameras that are pretty cool as antiques…but alas I am not the creative brain that I so admire about all you bloggers that I live vicariously through..

    Debbie,
I love taking pictures of cemeteries too. I also like taking pictures of lighthouses, old barns, flowers, and fall trees. Well pretty much anything. I am a novice photographer and would really like a new camera as all I have is a point and shoot, although I can get some fairly good pictures.
One of these days I will join you newbie party.

Those are great pictures, Debbie- all the pictures on your blog are! In this post, I love the stained glass window; the colors are gorgeous. Thanks to blogging, I'm starting to take pictures other than my kids and our family!

Nice job on the photos !! I don't know that I have a favorite, but I also enjoy taking pictures of old churches and cemeteries. Ran across some not long ago that I took a while back of some cemeteries and never did anything with them.
    Enjoy your week.

Nice shots Debbie! My favorite thing to photograph is anything architectural or ornamental. Which is funny, because that is the subject of my current post I just linked.

Photos in cemeteries don't seem to come out too well for me but I love taking pictures of the grandchildren. The first tombstone you did was very touching and the black and white with the gate was my favorite with the leaves and all.

I have just started really getting into photography in the past year and I love photographing SMALL things that others might pass by or small PARTS of something larger, especially things in nature. I too love photographing in cemeteries — love that tombstone pic! I just posted some pics I took at sunset in a cemetery that was decorated with hundreds of flags for Memorial Day!
