As I mentioned earlier this week we are taking a family road trip this weekend. We love to to jump in the car and go  venture to new places.  That is one great thing about living in the Carolina’s, we are so centrally located to take road trips that are NOT that far.
So this weekend heading to Roanoke Virginia.  Anyone been there, or live there? http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_wuJ2n27mFA4/SlpX84LOccI/AAAAAAAAAGg/9DJAJQhfy5c/s400/IMG_1179+Moundsville,+WV+(copyright)+10-13-2008.jpg
Sure looks beautiful. Of course a lot of history, antique shops and cool sites to see.
Sure hoping we see some pretty Foliage on our way there.  It is about a 3 ½ hour road trip.
If anyone can recommend something cool, we would love that. We of course have brochures and have a few fun things planned.
My husband has  already researched cool dives to eat at and coffee shops to hit.

Have a great weekend everyone. And thanks for stopping by and as always your lovely comments.
Just another reminder there will be NO GARAGE SALEN party today. See you next week though. Maybe I will find something cool in Virginia to share with you all.

Diy, thrifty home decor. Painting furniture, crafts, stenciling, burlap projects.

I have GOT to learn to proof read!
Roanoke is within a hour of where I grew up in a tiny town called Bassett! As a child we went there all the time! I don't know much about the city now but the Blue Ridge Parkway is very close to Roanoke. If you want to have a nature day this is the place to be. Great hiking spots! Breathtakingly Beautiful! Especially this time of the year if the trees still have their color! Can't wait to hear all about it!
    Have a great weekend!

Yes I have been to Roanoke. My husband's great aunt lived there and we visited once while we lived in Northern Virginia. Roanoke is lovely, with a pretty setting and a charming small town feel. Have a great weekend!

Have a great trip Debbie! I am going to Roanoke next month when my parents come to visit! I haven't been there yet, but it's only about 2 hours away. There is a beautiful HUGE lake not far from there called Smith Mountain Lake, it is incredible! If you want to see pretty leaves, that might be the place to do it. We have had a really, really dry summer and so the leaves are just starting to turn, and the colors are not as spectacular as they have been in the past. Enjoy your trip!

Have a safe trip. It sounds like a perfect weekend getaway. Texas is so large that it takes a full day just to get out of the state. 😉
Enjoy the family time. ~ Sarah
