Decorating with vintage mason jars

By Debbiedoo's Team Published: Jan 19, 2013 · Modified: Feb 4, 2025

Decorating with Vintage mason jars is such the norm now.

I bet so many wish they would have perhaps saved their Grandmothers or Mom’s from back in the day.

Now we are going out and buying them from antique dealers.

Who btw, are not giving them away.

I have a few, and this most recent one I wanted to do something special with it for Valentines day.

The pack of coffee filters came from the dollar tree…of course!

I made some cute coffee filter flowers with them,

or peonies, whatever you wish to call them.

Basically I did them the same way I did my

cupcake liner carnation flowers.

I give the  full tutorial there.

These cupcake wraps are just adorable and so vintagey looking. Those came from Marshalls.

Of course I am not using them for cupcakes.

ON

Diet

remember?

Can you guess what I used for the stem?

Yes

a Paint brush.

I had this big bag of letter beads

I believe they came from either the Dollar tree

or Walmart.

I don’t think I have ever used them until now.

and this is where it resides, on my night stand in our bedroom

Next to my diy Valentine art

I did last year.

Thanks for stopping over today.

Don’t forget the dollar tree Valentine’s party is in full swing!

OVER 50 participants so far and going strong.

Thanks for those who joined in to share your creativity.

I love the blue mason jars. I have one that I put white flowers in and I just love it. The contrast between the white and blue is so pretty.

hmmm, the lacy doilie things are cupcake wraps? haven’t seen those before – how fun! I think that jar, with the lace collar and beads would do nicely holding pens/pencils/school/art supplies around here. In a pinch our Home Depot tends to have mason jars around the time you buy seeds and such for spring planting.

You are so stinkin’ clever! I just had a package of those in my hand today at TJ Maxx, but I put them down! Had I known what I could have done with them besides using them for cupcakes, I would have bought them in a heartbeat. Looks like I need another trip to TJ Maxx!

Really cute! I love the “lace looking collars” made from cupcake liners on the jars, and the little letter beads are the perfect addition! 🙂
