Christmas ornament challenge

By 9 Comments

Moving right along here foot loose and fancy free!!

Today, I am sharing a diy Christmas ornament idea.

I already shared my cute little sparkly Owl ornaments

This is a sponsored post by Blue print social, all opinions are my own.

I really had no clue what I wanted to make in terms of an ornament for this challenge. I already have so many on our tree this year.  I told you I stepped up my game this year. I am so in the Christmas spirit.  I knew our tree needed something with a little more pop.  In other words, something larger in front.  I did find some cute things from the dollar tree I added and will be sharing the tree very shortly.

These wood cut outs are sold at most all craft stores.  This Christmas tree I found at Michael’s last year.  I never did do anything with this one. I bought two and made a wreath.  I looked at this and thought it would make a cute larger ornament for our Christmas tree this year.

Painted wood christmas tree

I love painting on wood with craft paint.  You simply can’t go wrong.

Especially with Folk art multi surface.

bakers twine garland

I used red, green, silver, gold and white pearl.  Then of course a little mod podge sparkle to go on top, and the new

Pearl mod podge.

I wanted my little tree to look like a tree.  So I used bakers twine for some garland and scrap paper to cut out the words joy.  I used these mini cloths pins to attach the J O Y to my garland.

I used a large cloths pin and painted that red and added some more sparkle mod podge to it.

It’s looking quite fanciful and sparkly around here.  That is one thing I am constantly wiping up. GLITTER:) Could be worse.  Thanks for stopping over today.  If you are not a regular here, I sure would love to see you back again.

Pin it, make it.

OOOOOOO Debbie I really like this ornament. Love the sparkle!! Neat idea painting the ‘ready made’ wooden piece. Save time that way. It is fun to paint on wood; goes really fast. I’m liking what I can see of your Christmas Tree. It started snowing here at 3 this afternoon. Earlier today I put the lighted dear (and the baby with no lights) under the birch tree. The snow on it is SO pretty. Now I’m getting in the ‘spirit’ of Christmas.

Oh yes, so very true. Our snow that started yesterday is still coming down. We’re pretty-much ‘snowed in’. Everything is covered in the pristine white blanket; what a beautiful sight. But I know once Christmas is over, I’ll be “come on Spring” (anxious for warm temps). Enough cold stuff already!!

My Mom and sister and here and while they are gone it suppose to snow. It does every single year when they come to visit and then my Mom is not a happy camper when she gets home.
