Burlap Fall art work for less than $15.00

By 30 Comments

Happy day to you all!

Today I am sharing burlap fall art work for less than $15.00.  Today, Autumn abounds presents 13 Fall decor ideas, crafts and recipes.  Stay tuned tomorrow for a really nice giveaway and Blog hop where you can join us and share your Fall goodies.

autumn abounds

Fall is in the air, everywhere I look around.  Even though it’s still 90 degrees out I can just feel Fall coming.  Actually, I can tell the way the sunlight direction is slowly changing in our home.

I love that change.  In the Summer time our kitchen is nice bright and cheery and in the Fall and winter months the direction changes and makes our Family room nice bright and cheery.

Today, I made some burlap Fall art work for less than $15.00.  Sure you could probably go buy something for that cost, but why should you when you can have the satisfaction of making it yourself and proudly displaying it.

Not to mention, for me crafting is like therapy.  And that indeed is a whole lot cheaper than going to a real therapist:)

Hey, you do what you have to do!

Diy Fall art

Let’s start with the simple supplies:

Supplies needed for Fall craft

A Bhg picture frame

Sheets of burlap

and burlap pre cut letters.  Both of those products are sold at Walmart and made by creative expressions.

Happy day when I saw those letters.

Paint of choice {optional}

bhg picture frame painted with chalky paintFirst I lightened up my frame with some Americana decor chalky paint.  This is optional.  The frame is actually very nice as is, however, I wanted a lighter frame.

burlap letters painted with folky art craft paint

I painted the burlap letters with this pretty shade of orange made by Folk paints.

These letters have an adhesive on the back, however, I hot glued mine to the burlap sheet just to be sure there would be no lifting.

burlap letters

I had a big faux leaf and hot glued that as well just for a little embellishment.

BHG fall art and burlap

I did not add the glass back on the frame.  In fact you can see I glued the burlap on the outside of the opening just for something a little different, and it would have no glare.

Fall burlap craft

I still have a lot more Fall decorating to do on my ladder shelf.  But this was a start and will be my focal point.

Thanks for stopping over today.

It’s happy and festive! I love burlap, and I love fall. So glad the two play so well together.

I’m noticing the change in the sunlight too. We were just talking about that last night, in fact.

I think you are willing fall to happen and it will! It’s starting to feel like fall again here after some 90+degree hot and humid days. I’m ready but not nearly as ready as you are. Getting there…. This fall art is so fun and festive and definitely puts me in pumkin-y, fall state of mind! I haven’t seen that chalky Americana paint. I have to look for it!
