Vintage shoe form

By Debbiedoo's Team Published: Jun 12, 2012 · Modified: Feb 4, 2025

Hey, hey there!

Yes, I am alive and well.

Thanks for the emails asking where I have been and if everything is OK!
YES, Indeedy it is. My boys are out of school now, and it leaves me VERY little down time. Every chance I get I am hopping on here girls and checking things out.

You may recall a while ago, I had a day out with some blogging friends.

We went to my favorite antique mall Sleepy poet in Charlotte, NC.

Well, that day, we all decided to buy a vintage shoe form.  I came up with the bright idea to do something fun with it.

Guess, what, I am the only one showing up to this do this bright idea!

The girls have since taken some blogging breaks and I am just too impatient to wait for them anymore.

Sorry girls, you can show us later when you come back! I do miss you though!

I really had no clue for the longest time what exactly I would do.

Then one day, my dear Grandfather popped in my head, which he tends to do often.  He reminded me how much he loved shoe horns, rubber bands, flashlights, and just the funniest little gadgets.

I thought I would do a shoe form in memory of him.

I took some old vintage books, tore them in tiny pieces…

scanned some pictures of my grandfather,

got out the mod podge and just had fun!

I found one of his Knights of Columbus bins and hammered it on top.

that was actually very hard to do without damaging the pin.

It is not all the way in the shoe..but good enough.

Makes for a very cute vintage, sentimental vignette!

Cheers to you Gramps!

Pardon all these strange edited pictures.

Because my boys are home, I am working on our very old laptop that does not give me many photo editing options.

Notice a new shelf too under this picture?

Seems to be the baby sister of our entry table.

I had to have it. Hobby Lobby, for $15.00

Very cute. Hey, I tried and tried to leave a comment on the Michelob post, but couldn’t. Looked like a fun time on the lake with the ladies. Do you live close to the lake?

I love your idea! Gives me an idea of what to do with my two ugly dress form bodies. Could use some kind of old book pages. Thanks for your mod podge ideas.
