Transformations of furniture and home decor

By Debbiedoo's Team Published: Apr 3, 2013 · Modified: Feb 4, 2025

Hi there everyone!~

In the past few months I have been on  a slight painting kick.

Everything I seem to do goes in cycles.

Either I am on stenciling, spray painting, or mod podge kick…and then I fizzle and move on.

That’s the nature of the beast I suppose.

But with Spring and Summer months approaching,

I really love to transform things with paint.

La Craie paint and versatility

You can  update your home decor in a blink of an eye.

No dripping

No before prep work as far as sanding and priming goes.

Just open, stir and watch the magic happen.

Painted in Saint Ann, this Rooster turned out to be Saint Roo of the house.

I only had a sample and it certainly went a long way.

This diy picture frame was a sweet, simple and thoughtful gift I made for a friend.

Nice thing about this paint, is it dries quickly.

So literally you get self gratification and rewarded in no time at all.

I

LIKE

that!

My biggest transformation to date

was Our fireplace makeover.

It took years of convincing my husband

it

needed a redo.

And boy, he could not be happier.

oh and of course so am I.

Thanks for stopping over today!

Love the beautiful photograph of your fireplace surround. I can’t believe the difference that makeover made! It really commands the room now. And of course I love Mr Roo and his new Doo 😉

Does this paint have to be ordered online? Is it only carried in a few select locations like the Annie Sloan? Love your make overs!!!

Hi Debbie, I absolutely love your mantle. It is so pretty and striking. Here is my question, how does this product compare to AS in your opinion? I love the AS dark wax but I admit I have a pretty heavy hand when applying, this is just how I like to do it. But with the dark wax it sometimes gets a little too dark for me. Since this product has a mid-range color of wax, have you used it and do you think it would work for someone who likes a little more color than normal?..Thanks, Happy Wednesday..Judy

Maison Blanche Paint… I will have to check it out. I have been researching different paints, mainly chalk paints and milk paint.
