Peace Love Joy diy pottery barn inspired pillow

By Debbiedoo's Team Published: Nov 11, 2013 · Modified: Feb 4, 2025

Hey hey there!
This is one easy diy Peace, Love, Joy, diy pottery barn inspired pillow.

I saw it in their catalog, loved it, then looked at the price and said No way!

I can so make that.  Of course, a NO sew, burlap and hot glue project.

 And some stencils too.

Here was my inspiration:

{Pottery barn}

I bought my burlap at walmart.  It was just a matter of convenience and I liked that it was black.  I am going for a different look this year in our family room and the black accent will be perfect.

I can for certain get a few projects out of this bulk of burlap.  It was $6.97 for two yards.

I cut the burlap slightly over sized the pillow insert, which I already had on hand from a

diy no sew drop cloth pillow I did over the summer.

Time to recycle onto the next pillow project.

sorry for the bad pic, crafting at night!

This is why it is nice to do things on the cheap and easy, change it up guilt free!

Stencils, also bought at Walmart, craft paint and just start dabbing away with you craft paint of choice and color.

I added the burlap rosettes I also had on hand.

I am sure my husband does not appreciate it on his man chair, but he will simply move it when he wants to sit and relax.

The pottery barn insert was version is $29.99 and that is only for the cover, you still have to by the pillow insert.  I made mine for well under $10.00.

Plus I can say, I made that.

Thanks for stopping by today.

That turned out great! And, if I remember correctly you don’t sew? So that would make a really great no-sew project! xo Diana

I love it, Debbie! I love the black burlap, too. That would work out great in my living room where I have black and white.

That is so cute Debbie! I don’t sew so the option of gluing is definitely right up my alley:)

Just an idea, how about slipping a black or dark green piece of garbage bag in the pillow so than you don’t see the white showing through the black fabric (since its only for decoration and won’t be washed)…?

You just read my mind, lol. I said that to my friend just a few minutes ago, I am going to slip in something so the white insert is not peeking through:)

I’m all about the NO SEW. My sewing machine has apparently entered the early stages of dementia. It was my grandmother’s machine so it’s actually about time. I would rather buy glue than a new machine right now.

Loved the way yours turned out, and I really like the black burlap for this one.

I love it! There are so many holiday cheers you could use. To get that worn letter loo, I stamp on my letters.

How do you get the pillow to stay in there if it’s not sewed on any side?!
