Brooklyn Pizza tour 2011

By Debbiedoo's Team Published: Jul 12, 2011 · Modified: Mar 25, 2013

 Hey, Hey, Hey, Hey!!~
Having a ball in NY, and NJ so far. We have been on the go go go!~ Of course that is the norm around these parts, however, living in the South now for so long, we are much slower paced.
Yesterday we spent the day on a Brooklyn Pizza tour.  I would HIGHLY recommend this tour.
Not only was the Pizza so good, it was packed full of sites, and info I just never knew.
Our tour guide Paula, was awesome…my boys and I got the biggest charge out of her every time she would say
“Forget aboutit”!~ She was half Italian and half Jewish, a real hoot that is for sure!

This is my half sister Terri who came along with us yesterday on the tour. She lives in NJ.

This was on the bus, they had a DVD going and it was pretty cool, as they would play movie clips in where certain actors were filmed in Brooklyn.  SO many famous people came out of Brooklyn.

This was the sicilian pizza at Spumoni gardens, OMG, that is all I can say!

This pizza was from the famous Grimaldi’s, it was another OMG moment!

Did you know Brooklyn has a population of over2.6 million?
Holy cow, I never knew that.

I will share just a few pics with ya, then I have to run!

Having fun takiing pictures as you can see. This was our first stop in Brooklyn, it was Brooklyn bridge park, just gorgeous!

This is the view from the very new park, a lot of history with that bridge, built in 1883, still going strong.  They are actually in the process of painting it, and removing all the lead paint.  I

Our last stop of the day was Coney Island.

It was pretty neat, very hot indeed.  I have so much more to share with you, but I am truly blogging on the fly here. I am sorry for that, I realize I would make a horrible tour guide today. But hey you got a few pieces of good pizza  and a few good pics.
thanks for stopping by…

I thank you for joining in, and so sorry I have not paid a visit, I am sure you understand!~

I'm so glad you're enjoying your time in this neck of the woods. Tour looks like something we'd like to do. While you're in New York you should try Artichokes pizza. 328 E. 14th St. NewYork, NY 10003 (between 1st and 2nd Ave.) Finger lickin' good!

It looks like so much fun! Love the picture of your son and the pizza. Brooklyn continues to grow because, compared to Manhattan, housing is more affordable there.

I will have to tell the hubby about this tour. He is from New York and ALWAYS has to compare Ohio pizza to New York style pizza and believe me, according to him, they don't know how to make pizza in Ohio. Have fun!

I loved this post Debbie! You took fabulous pizza photos..I wanted to take a bite right through my screen :0)
We love both styles of pizza and have a hard time choosing a favorite but usually the spumoni at Spumoni Gardens makes us go there!

Hugs from one of the 2.6 million Brooklynites,
