Preheat oven to 350. Prepare 3 round cake pans or one 9 x 13.
In large bowl beat butter, sugar and lime zest.
Beat in eggs one at a time, scraping the bowl after every addition.
Beat in juice.
In separate bowl whisk cake flour and baking soda. Gradually add to butter mixture alternately with buttermilk beginning and ending with flour mixture.
Pour into prepared pan(s.)
Bake 18 - 20 min. for round pans and 30 min. for 9 x 13 or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool completely.
