The best baked beans ever

Hi there everyone! Today, I am sharing the Best baked beans ever!!!

Best baked beans ever

Can you hear me yelling that at you? Seriously, I am.  I can’t help it, I get excited over food sometimes.

This baked bean recipe you will want to make and bring to your 4th of July party.

Or any party for that matter that you have coming up or in the future.  Be sure to save this recipe.

This is for bean lovers only.

While on our last visit home to Buffalo my Mom gave Mike an early Birthday present.  She found a neat cookbook called the Taste of Buffalo.

Beans from Buffalo cook book 008

If I have any Buffalonians reading, you know what this is.

Buffalo is not only known for cold, snow and the Buffalo Bills losing 4 superbowls…going 4 consecutive times…

Buffalo also has the  reputation for the best foodie places in the Nation.

Afterall, what else can you do in a blizzard?..

you can always eat!

This bean recipe I am sharing today is not your average baked beans recipe.

I told Mike after he made them, they were the best I ever had.

Really, no joke.

Best baked beans recipe

Mike said they were a bit tedious, but totally worth the few extra steps.  Have I mentioned I love when my husband cooks?

ahhh, why of course I do. What wife wouldn’t?

Well, don’t answer that, your husband may not be very good in the kitchen.

Lee's ranch beans

Served up with some dogs or burgers and you are the hit of the party!

Don’t forget to check out my recipe archives while you are here visiting. I have lots of yummy party appetizers and more.  All easy too.

  • 1 can of butter beans
  • 1 can of Kidney beans
  • 1 lb ground chuck
  • 1 lb of bacon
  • 2 chopped onions
  • 1 c of orange yellow or red pepper
  • 2 cans of tomato soup undiluted
  • 1 cup of brown sugar
  • All cans used are 16 oz.
Servings:
Instructions
  1. Chop and saute onions and pepper in a little olive oil. Brown and drain the meat. Cut bacon in large pieces, fry and drain. Combine all the above ingredients. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 1 hour. These are fantastic for a party. Apparently a real crowd pleaser and always asked for next time.
Recipe Notes

Even better the if cooled and reheated the next day. This makes a whole lot of beans for a party or great left overs for the week.

I have made this recipe for years now – even folks who don’t care for baked beans rave about them! I am convinced it’s the butter beans and ground beef that add that pizzazz. Have a wonderful fourth, Debbie! Jane

Yum! My husband requested baked beans for the 4th and yours look really good! I’m going to try and make mine from dried beans in the crock pot. Maybe I should suggest that he cooks them? 🙂

Not sure, never tried. That is not how the recipe was in that cookbook.
